Going to buy some niche frag samples with my work money soon. I like the concept of Lyric Man since the citrus and rose would suit me and my dress style casually, even if it might be a bit feminine.

Black Phantom.

On a related note, I spent most of the weekend with that girl, Rachel from my sister’s wedding. Turns out she is Armenian, not Jewish. Did a lot of the ol’ Netflix and chill. She seems to love Black Phantom, though I kinda suspect she’d have complimented basically anything I was wearing.

Dunno if I’m gonna bother to keep seeing her, she’s kinda vapid and boring, and she wasn’t amazing at the sex. Not awful, but obviously I’m used to a higher standard of fucking. Plus, I’ve been flirting with the qt caterer a lot on messenger, and she’s more my type anyway. Also have a booking with an escort Thursday evening. Got too much going on to bother tying myself to a girl I don’t like that much.

The reason we don’t buy them is because they’re shit. I’ve tried some oils from various sources, I’ve tried cheap knockoffs, they’re never anywhere near as good as the real thing. Anyone who says otherwise is just coping or has no idea what the originals smell like.

she seemed really impressed, but I'm secretly a noselet and found this bottle by chance, mostly empty
I'm going to buy a new bottle because I really like it too, but what other scents should I get to start a rotation?

the only other perfume I remember liking was the YSL opium an ex used to wear so I'll get that too

I'm male but I strongly dislike the 'fresh' and 'aqua' scented perfumes marketed at men
my usual aesthetic is slightly scruffy/ earthy colours/ heavy fabrics

This might sound retarded but I don't use cologne a lot and when I do I feel like the smell doesn't last long. Could it just be that my cologne is shit, or am I not applying enough? (I usually do three sprays). Also, is there a proper way to apply cologne?

>> No.14057513

>>14057468
Is it actually cologne? or is it an eau de toilett/parfum?
Colognes are low concentration and will rarely last long, but it varies widely by the fragrance, and even by the person wearing it. What is it?

>> No.14057518

>>14057468
Yes, they come in varying strengths. What are you using?

Standard procedure for me is 1-2 sprays on the chest/torso area and 1-3 sprays on the neck area depending on what I'm wearing. If I'm testing a frag I'll spray on the wrist or inner elbow. With that routine I can squeeze 10-12 hours out of most frags.

Camel is snice, as the anon above said, though it’s not too out there. Kind of a spicy oriental gourmand.

Bat is a dank, earthy, fermented fruit scent. A little sour, fruity, green, and dark. Very interesting stuff.

Moth is an interesting ashy, smokey, animalistic scent.

Elephant is a great green, woody, floral scent with a twist of citrus and coconut milk.

Dragonfly is a green, aquatic, floral scent with some sweetness, and an interesting ozonic vibe.

T Rex is cool if you want to smell like a barbecue pit.

Honestly, I’d just order a sample pack from them and try them all out. They’re all high quality, though many aren’t terribly wearable and they’re certainly not all going to be scents everyone will like.

That means it's an Eau de Toilette concentration, or EDT. Frags come in different strengths
>Aftershave
>eau de cologne, slightly stronger than aftershave
>eau de toilette, most common for men's designer fragrances
>eau de parfum, most common for womens designers and most niche
>parfum/extrait, very strong
>arab oil, do not wear these you will smell like a taxi in syria

These aren't exact, there are EDC that are stronger than EDT, EDT stronger than EDP, etc

>> No.14057636

As a fresh, aquatic scent, it cant be expected to last as long as some heavier fragrances. Where do you spray typically? Straying on your pulse points will help it project off your body. Spraying in the same spot more than once, or applying on top of lotion may help it last longer. If all else fails, reapply.

Wrong.

Calm down, barely anyone claims any superiority here. I'm personally going to be satisfied if my samples will be good on their own, don't really need to be even close to originals or superior to them. I dress minimal myself and avoid any logos as a rule of thumb. Something fits my style? Great, let's buy it. It is cheaper than branded equivalents? Even better. It doesn't have a logo? Don't care. I'm one of cheapfags lurking /frag/ and so far my most of bottles are cheapies from the sticky pastebin. I treat this oil business as a way to expand my possibilities without going over the budget. Don't worry, I won't claim that I'm wearing an original equivalent of someone compliment me. Don't worry.

the terms you want to look for are gourmand and spicy, just look at different note breakdowns and see what you might like. look at the pic at the start of the thread for a good jumping off point for things to sample at department stores. don’t blind buy anything with those smells before you sample them bc they’re hit or miss, and every perfume reacts with each persons skin differently. just buy like a small sample of what appeals to you and wear it for a day before you buy it. i know sephora and i think nordstrom will give you free samples of scents you like
