I know this might sound stupid, but is there a fragrance that smells like Tom Ford Ombré Leather just with less leather?
When I spray it, I don't really like the fragrance but it is very long lasting and I absolutely love it after one or two hours when the dominance of the leather fades away and the other notes are revealed. I can smell it on my scarves for days and really love the dried down smell of it. Would be cool if there was a fragrance that smells like this from the start.

DHI is really good. It was one of the first samples I got when starting to get into fragrances. I quickly realised that most other fragrances were inferiour.

Well, the idea of the brand name is that you’ll only need this one fragrance for particular events, hence Fragrance One. Office for Men is his “this is the only frag you’ll ever need for the office” frag. So it does make sense, even if it isn’t very creative.

And yes, I fully believe he raised that money. Look at the backer comments on the Kickstarter. Like half of them have Arab/Pajeet names. He has a lot of cringey brown people who think Jeremy’s fragrance will get them the bob and vagana. Kouros and Antaeus really don't even smell similar at all. People tend to compare them because they are both 80s with an animal note. Kouros is a beast with honey, moss, and the "pissy" civet note. People over exaggerate this note. It does have a similarity with industrial cleaner, but so does Cool Water and Individuel. It’s remarkably similar to Paco Rabanne PH if you’ve ever smelled that. Barbershop, but with an added unique incense, ambergris, and muskyness that recalls the bathhouses in ancient Greece, salted marble statues and similar imagery. Look for “Darvant”’s review of the frag on basenotes, he does a good job of objectively describing it.

Dior Homme Eau often gets compared to Prada L'Homme, and they are very similar. They vary in that the iris in DHE is a bit more pronounced, and it also has some punchy freshness because of the added citruses, whereas the Prada is more smooth with more of that ambery sweetness. It's got less of that "zingy freshness". Both are great frags, personally I prefer the smell of the Prada but I think DHE performs a bit better, though neither is a slouch in that category on my skin.

Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man. Don't know what to think. I think I might not have the personality/style to pull it off. I didn't do enough research, it is based on the smokier Aventus batches. I liked the fruitier ones. I'm on the fence if I'm regretting this buy.

I own Santal Royal and am wearing it for you now. Yes, there's Oud. No, there's not much sandalwood, if any, going on. The opening features a prominent cinnamon rose accord which remains for a while but subsides. I have several Oud themed fragrances at this point and bought my 4.2 oz tester bottle of Santal from fragnet on sale for $49. Your deal is probably legit but not especially great. If you're just looking for an intro to Oud and value is important, consider 24 Gold Oud for under $30 on fragrancebuy. You might also look for a deal on Montale Fantastic Oud, which I feel is a better overall representation of Oud. For something that you can wear well into the spring and summer, consider Mancera Gold Intensitive Aoud. This one turns up for under $60 regularly and was my personal introduction to Oud and to Mancera/Montale.

Other Oud starter choices for you:
Rasasi Faqat Lil Rijal - cheap but "authentic" as in heavy sweaty oud scent that is marketed to Arabs in Rasasi's home market. Some people really like this one but it's not for me.
YSL M7 Oud - milder, spicy, aromatic Oud. Shows up occasionally on fragrancenet for a decent price (it's $49 right now). Myrrh and orange compliment the Oud very nicely.
Bond no. 9 New York Oud - if you wanna go balls out for a blind buy grab this one. It's a roseaoud but with a lot more going on, plum and honey in particular. This is my very favorite Oud fragrance out of about 20 bottles and testers aren't expensive on eBay or even Amazon. Women love this one.

There are many options of varying quality, from $25 on the low end (Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man) to ~$100 on the high end (various Pineapple Vintage versions). I have several different Pineapple Vintages as well as the usual suspect Arab clones and honestly you're better off going with Sauvage or >>14045696. The best straight up Aventus "clone" to date is Pineapple Vintage Emperor. My bottle arrived yesterday and I can say it's a very, very good imitation of Aventus. I’ve sampled most of their scents and there were a couple I thought were snice, but I find most of them to be very simplistic and nowhere near worth the prices they charge. I guess the simplistic, “all natural” (but not really) thing is kinda their gimmick, Hipsters like them because they think they’re getting a bunch of ground up wood and leaves and shit squeezed into their bottles, but at the end of the day, there are other houses that do similar scents, do them better, and for less money.

Patchouli 24 is the best scent from Le Labo.

Some of them were shit, some good but lacked something but a good chunk of them were terrific and they easily outweigh the less successful dupes alone. And by terrific I don't mean merely a good copy but being better than originals. You don't have to trust me though, but I'd suggest you to order a few testers. Both APO and Universal offer testers and you can order as little as 0.25ml (which is enough for 3 all day wears as the perfumes are concentrated). Why won't you figure out yourself? At worst you'll loose a couple of bucks. At best you'll realise what a big meme thus smell-juice-business is and save thousands of dollars.

I have Neroli, GIT and Black Afgano. They are all very good. I don't know about Neroli but the latter two are very close to originals. Black Afgano in particular has that smokey woody depth with some sweetness which is so intoxicating. I have some other copies and APO definitely has the best one. However they're more linear than originals: they won't change drastically from openings. For these scents that's a good thing for me tho. They project massively for first 2h and last for good 6h+ in total.
