It's good but not more than $50 good. On the other hand I don't find GIT itself $200 good, so you may want to look for some decant first from some fellow aussie.

Any opinions on Sylvaine Delacourte from the pic? There was some noise about this fraghouse around the Black Friday and a few anons bought discovery sets. Are free there any snice? Haven't heard anything here about them snice then. I'd order a discovery set myself but I'm afraid that none of these frags is masculine and it'll be money wasted. Help me, brand seems really good.

Plenty of perfumers offer that. Even in the video in OPs post guy from CB I hate perfume does that for some autist. But desu you probably don't know very well what you want. A workshop on perfume making with a specialist is worth half of a bottle of this Creed and will expand your understanding of perfumes exponentially. If you're based in UK look up Chris Barrett from basenotes. He's done such workshops in past for around £150. That's what I'd go for.

Sup guys, hookerfag here. So, my sister’s getting married next week and she has a lot of very hot friends, who I would like to have rough sex with, if you catch my drift. It's dawned on me in the last week or so that this shit is the most cost effective EDT you can get. It smells exactly like the Black Ice air freshener so you can use it to spray in your car after smoking weed, roll the windows down, and both smells are gone within 5-10 mins. You can spray it on before or after the gym and it wont offend anybody or mix badly with BO. You can wear it to the office and be a breath of fresh air compared to all the tryhards wearing ouds or grotesque saccharine ethyl maltol bombs. You can wear it on a date, get called a cheap man, and promptly dump the bitch for not appreciating a uniquely singular cultural artifact with an ivory towar heritage. Cool Water is based and meta

I can't say I'm in love with the collection man. The hooker stories are fun to read and all but it seems like the bottles are mostly inconsequential niche trudgery and every designer is just memes. No classics, nothing utilitarian, no semblance of anything that would be in the wardrobe of somebody who is grounded.

It is admirable though how the immensely hedonist and expensive collection matches the amsterdam hooker posts. I'll give you that m8 and I'm not hating. I just think you should check out something like Prada Amber or Laura Biaggioti Roma Uomo, which are examples of designer frags that take familiar accords and amplify the fuck out of them in Prada's case, or in the case of Roma Uomo take something from the past and merge it with something from the future, well before BdC did it and for way cheaper.

>> No.13999878

YSL Y EDP is unironically good. I read it being absolutely shit on but tried it at my local deadmall and it's actually pleasant. I get it's redundant but there's something to it that makes it a bit oriental smelling. Different.

>> No.13999880

>>13999830
I’ve tried Prada Amber, actually. Wasn’t a fan. I have been meaning to grab a Guerlain frag or two. I really have sampled a lot of designer scents. I do travel quite a bit, always take the opportunity to try out some designers when I’m at the airport. I’ve also ordered a ton of samples over the years, both niche and designer. Just haven’t found too many that I liked.

A scent being a “meme” is meaningless to me. I don’t pay attention to that stuff, I think people who avoid things because they’re “memes” are idiots who’ve fried their brain by being on the internet too much. It’s the same as the kids who lose their shit if they see an interracial couple on TV, because they’re on /pol/ so much, they can’t separate memes from reality anymore. Memes only exist on the internet, in real life, that’s all nonsense. I just wear what I like, whether it’s popular or not. Just my opinion, of course.

I actually use things like Roja Elysium, PVI, or Reflection as my “utilitarian” scents. I’ll wear those pretty much wherever. I do wear everything I own at one time or another.

Well, I’m not really that close to my dad’s side of the family anymore, truth be told, and I don’t know my sister’s fiancée’s family at all. Don’t think I’ve ever even met his parents, come to think of it. So for the most part, it’s gonna be a bunch of people I see maybe a handful of times a decade, a few cousins I actually like, and a bunch of my sister’s and her fiancee’s friends who I mostly don’t know.

Actually, come to think of it, I think one of my sister’s friends might actually be an escort. Heard my sister talking shit about how one of her friends basically dates rich dudes for money. Dunno if it’s more of a sugar daddy sort of thing, if she’s just a gold digger, or if she’s an actual working girl. Hot as fuck, though. May have to do a little digging, see if she has ads anywhere...

You're a rotting tree. When you were alive, you spent a few hundred years enjoying a peaceful and sumptuously windy existence. You would even boast to the other trees, because your leaves and branches were always plentiful, because wildlife from all over called you their home, because lovers even carved their names in your sides. Everything was perfect until insects found you and bored into you and began tearing you apart from inside. You loosened, and you crumbled, and your whole trunk broke off and fell to the ground. Do you remember watching it erode over time while you were left as a helpless, rotting stump? Currently, your existence is not a pretty one. Every day, you're plagued by incurable necrosis. Every day, you're sprayed with urine by all kinds of animals as they mark their territory. Every day, you're sent rose petals by the wind, as if it, too, mourned your death. Congratulations, tree. You have become the headstone to your own, sorry grave. Oud 27 by Le Labo.

How is Guerlain Vetiver in that regard? I don't want to smell like an old man but still, if it'll help mature my young looks...

To each their own. I own both Tuscan Leather and I purchased Ombré Leather '16 when it was still a private blend and I vastly preferred it over Tuscan Leather to the point where I would wear TL more to preserve OL for special occasions. When I found out OL made a come back I nearly shit myself. When I found out the price for a 100ml bottle I actually shit myself. Tested both '18 and '16 and found no discernible difference in performance. Immediately went out and purchased two bottles fearing reformation or price hike or discontinuation. Strongly considering purchasing two more back up bottles. I have a problem but OL is just so fucking good to me. TL is too sweet and I love the floral note in OL.

>> No.14004595

>>14004534
That’s fair, I think that maybe a part of it is that I don’t have any fragrances even close to sweet so I think that TL fills that gap as well as just smelling amazing. I have other fragrances with floral notes and I don’t feel the need to have it again. Don’t get me wrong, if TL didn’t exist I’d be all over OL, I just can’t justify both, and TL fills a gap in my collection too.

Literally no one where I live wears frags and I've only smelt Sauvage from tourists from the mainland when I've been working.
Would that make Sauvage unique enough for me to warrant buying it or at least sampling? Its gotten a negative rep from me since its all I ever smell the times I do smell frags.
Since in the summer waiting 5-6 days a week I smelt Sauvage like 3 times a week, Dylan Blue maybe once all summer and Le Male off this one guy on a coach tour.
I know being unique is a plus when you wear frags, but I'd rather wear something I like but also others enjoy...

>> No.14004616

>>14004596
I say this in a nice way and not a rude or flippant way: Wear whatever the fuck you want.

There are common fragrances, but fragrances are not common. I like Sauvage EDT but have no use for it. You could pick any fragrance that isn’t Sauvage, Bleu De Chanel or ADG and you’d stand out. They’re popular because they’re mass appealing and designed to be liked by all. Being unique isn’t that important because simply wearing a fragrance already makes you stand out. Plus fragrances are subjective. What you think smells nice may repulse others. I had somebody tell me that Tobacco Vanille smells like toilet bleach.

>> No.14004631

>>14004616
I guess it depends on why you are into fragrance in the first place. Obviously these generals are full of aficionados who probably don't give a fuck about normie opinions and mass-appeal, but the people coming in for advice and suggestions are going to have completely different priorities, especially for men's cologne which is already not all that common with younger guys.

New/fa/g here,
Something like 95% of all deodorants and perfumes I ever try on become denatured very quickly and no longer smell good. Over the years I've tried 5-6 different kinds of CK deo sticks and the only one that maintains an agreeable smell after prolonged use is CK One Shock. Every other deodorant I have used genuinely smells unpleasant to me after 30 minutes/1 hour, especially if I sweat.
I vaguely remember hearing talk about skin acidity being to blame. What gives?

i dont understand this view of collecting fragrance. i only buy what i like most. the idea of having a classic in on my shelf just because its regarded a certain way by a lot of people isnt compelling

not sure what you mean by utilitarian either. i have different frags for spring summer and fall winter but that just suits the mood of the season. there are some frags i avoid wearing to the office or would feel more confident wearing on a date but i dont put the purpose before the frag. i collect what i enjoy and wear what seems appropriate if need be

>> No.14004708

Wear antiperspirant, not deodorant. Ideally antiperspirant that doesn't have much scent on its own. From there you just use a proper fragrance as usual. Deoderants, on top of being garbage as a stand-alone fragrance, simply attempts to mask your BO rather than prevent it in the first place.

As far as denaturing, a good fragrance shouldn't as long as its not exposed to light, heat, or oxygen for extended periods of time.

I just realized you meant on your skin. Thats to do with individual body chemistry which isn't helped by wearing cheap shit and no antiperspirant on your stink glands (armpits, crotch, and sometimes scalp). You might just be a stinky pajeet who needs heavy duty antiperspirant sprays all over your body to minimize sweat/bacteria as much as possible.

Dear god this is terrible advice. BO is caused by bacteria waste products. Deodorant is meant to prevent bacteria growth. Antiperspirant is always shit and should be avoided at all costs unless you're some kind of spaghetti dropping sweaty mess.
>>14004689
You want an unscented deodorant, ideally a crystal deodorant like pic related. The crystal is a salt that inhibits bacteria growth. You moisten it and rub into your armpits. No bacteria = no bacteria waste = no stink. You can then apply the fragrance of your choice without worrying about conflicting smells or stink.

>wear antiperspirant
No
I've already been down that road, all the way to "high intensity 72h" antiperspirants, the 7-day antiperspirant creams, the "apply before going to bed" advice and all that nonsense. Totally ineffective. Not to mention, with all the horror stories surrounding aluminium-based compounds I don't want to be putting that stuff on my skin day after day unless it actually works really well.

I mean, I'm sure there must be SOME scents that work for me, but finding them is the problem. For instance, I used plebeian shaving creams/gels when I first started shaving. They all have roughly the same characteristic smell, and I find that they stink for 1-2 hours after finishing the shave. Nowadays I only use Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood soap (also used Coconut soap and Rose cream, not bad) and that smells even better after shaving than before!

>>14004776
Yea, I will look into some of these unscented ones. Is that crystal an alum stone? I've seen those in the shops and immediately thought they were some dumb marketing ploy, but I guess it can't hurt to try.

>> No.14004806

>>14004776
You have that backwards, retard. Antiperspirant reduces sweat (duh) which means bacteria has no place to thrive. Of course different kinds with different chemicals exist to do this job, and some deodorants have antiperspirant properties but strictly speaking, the only thing a "deodorant" is meant to do is replace or mask BO.

Also bacteria aside, all humans have varying degrees on natural BO simply due to sebum and sweat before bacteria even enters the picture. Asians have almost none, so don't really need more than perfume, but whites do stink in problem areas just natural, unless you a filthy French person and into that musky shit. Shitskins genetically have it the worst, with basically their entire bodies having a naturally awful smell.

There are plenty of "classic" frags I can get like original just to be "vintage purist" but I don't really like those scents if that's what you're implying. Pic is my favorites at the moment, I have a few more modern ones too that aren't pictured, mostly stuff I've left in their boxes but also some more cheapies.

Utilitarian means just that. If you can tell, I'm a big fan of fougeres, which is a genre that for the last century was mostly redolent of shaving creams, aftershave, showergel, soaps, etc. Those types of accords are just nostalgic to me.

>don’t bathe
I've read Communist era/Gaige kaifang era stories in Chinese language manuals about bathing practices. There is literally a superstition about bathing being bad for the skin. People would only bath in public bath houses (don't think Japanese onsen, think prison shower) at most once a week. In Winter it wouldn't be uncommon for the average Joe to go a month without bathing.
I have also spent time in a Chinese monastery. We were given one set of robes, including only one pair of socks. I was there for two weeks and none of the other people bathed more than once during that whole period.

All the memes are true. The Chinks are filthy while the Japs are immaculate.
