New to /fa/, been looking for a coat for a while but don't know if they look good or not. Please help me decide between these two. This one is a bit hard to put on but feels alright when it's on. Bit of tightness in the back when raising my arms but GF says the fit is really good

Second one.
Thoughts? Please no bully. First time buying a non athletic wear jacket.

Why are you wearing a SLIM FIT smartly cut coat, then pairing with up with totally not smart hoodie and jeans. Seek inspo from Yohji shows for example and try to emulate the baggier silhouettes somehow, or dress more smart. It's clashing big time now, both are bad. Too formal, look into raglan sleeves. They work 10x better for casual outfits. Pic related, that's the kind of a vibe you'd want from the shoulders if you want to keep it casual. Even for smart outfit the jackets look too tight, you look uncomfortable. Nothing worse than seeing someone suffer to look fashionable, but then they don't even look fashionable - absolute madness. Sorry for the negative vibes, but sometimes you just have to say it without sugar coating. Don't waste your money.

sorry to say I agree with this dude >>13998991
Neither jacket looks too comfortable on you, I'd take his advice and look for a more casual overcoat that's a bit more comfortably fitted

Thanks for keeping it real. I literally have like 5 different coats lying in my room lol. This is driving me crazy. I showed my GF your post and she says people on 4chan are autistic and the coat looks really good with a hoodie.

I don't necessarily want to look fashionable, just want to look good. I'm not comfortable with oversized stuff. Thing is, when I posted these coats in a larger size in here people were telling me that they look way too big. So I'm not sure who to believe anymore desu. My jacket ripped and is too cold for winter, but I'm going to work wearing it because I'm looking for the perfect winter coat. But it's driving me insane and taking way too long.

Can you help me out of my misery and recommend me a winter jacket/coat? I aim for kind of a "badboy" style but also want to look good at my job (no dress code)

Picture looks like trash to be honest. Looks like a hobo with trash baggy clothes who will go nowhere in life. Why would anyone ever want to emulate this? OP is standing like an autist and needs better cut jeans.

Tell her to stop lying to spare your feelings. Both look like you literally had no other options.
Sure, /fa/ is autistic, but wear a casual coat for casual clothes and a formal coat for formal clothes.
You're not going to look professional in a hoodie, but you could definitely build something to wear at your job around these coats.

No, she really thinks it looks good. She even picked the outfit. In my city (Berlin) it's pretty normal to wear a topcoat with a hoodie.

Weirdo city. At least you can look better than everyone in your city by not doing that.

Of course it's possible to look professional in a hoodie, it depends on the setting and the social norms of the enviroment.

You asked for advice/critique and you're getting it. If you want my opinion. Get a better hoodie. Like, different color or something. It's too standard gray with black coat. Looks dirty. Get different pants. Perhaps some dry denim slim fit pieces or idk. That faded jeans look with the clean cut coat makes the jeans look old/cheap and the coat out of place. Also, the shoes will make the outfit. I prefer more low profile type of shoes/slipons with tighter pants and perhaps look into some nice leather boots.

I appreciate the advice for sure. Just don't understand why she keeps telling me the coat looks great but people on 4chan tell me every coat I post look too big a size larger and too small a size down.

The outfit I'm wearing in pic isn't really a 'fit', just a random pair of hoodie/jeans. I'm just asking whether the fit on the coats is good and which one looks better.

At the moment I just wear ultraboosts but I ordered a pair of black boots 2 weeks ago. But they didn't arrive yet.

I think I understand the goal aesthetic you are going for, maybe you could also try a turtleneck inside of the coat. Definitely different jeans or pants who are tighter fit. I think the bottom line is you look uncomfortable, which is why people react negatively and advise you to switch it up. Maybe you have to get used to these coats also.

I like the second one, but you should be happy yourself. My rule now is that if I put something on and I'm not immediately sure, I don't buy it.

>> No.13999110

>>13999105

The second one looks lower quality/feels worse irl and catches dust and flints because it's black and 100$ from Uniqlo.

I'm not sure about any item though, as I just used to wear sports clothes my entire life lol. So anything thats not that makes me feel awkward.

Yes exactly you are right. It's more like my gf's aesthetic but I also kinda like it. She made me some outfit grids and told me to buy a turtleneck with the coats as well. The jeans feel pretty tight to me, but maybe im delusional. I'll try it with a tighter pair. Do you think the coats themselves fit well? Is it a problem if they are a little hard to put on and tight in the back when raising arms etc? Thanks anon!

Here's the coat with random sweater and tightest pair of jeans I own. Feels like a great fit without hoodie, not as tight. Thoughts?

Show your girlfriend this picture and ask if she thinks these guys dress well. No offence to your gf but she's probably a normie with shit taste. This is the type of trash that normies think looks good despite it being 5 years out of style. If she thinks the guys in this pic are well dressed then just disregard any fashion advice she gives you.

Looks awkward, the sleeves are too long and the rest is too tight

Are you going to ignore all the other people telling you it's too tight because one person said it isn't? Why even ask for advice then? It's too tight and looks awkward because of that.

This one looks great but the blue jeans are terrible. You should wear black ones. The posters saying that it's too tight are interested in the homosexual aesthetics. Ignore them.

Just an fyi, you're supposed to remove the tag on the sleeve and the stiched x's on the tail if the coat has one.
