Posted in the last thread, been wanting to go black for a while. Was planning on growing it out to chest length. Thoughts?

Read about nopoo so I decided to just wash with water during deployment. But by the end (~8 months in) my hair was getting greasy again and always had dandruff. Should I just go back to shampoos or use a specific brand? I always had issues with dandruff and tried H&S and never worked for me.

About two months into growing a beard, its coming in nicely thick. Had been fading my neck so it blends in nice and certainly helping being a chinlet, but its just a nice esthetic I think with my shoulder length hair. Currently my mustache is growing in unruly though, because I crinkle my upper lip often. What is the best product to help tame it and take care of beard thats not a meme?

I use a shitty strong head & shoulders because if I don't I get dandruffs, and even if it's not visible it causes acnea on my forehead. After having tried virtually everything for acnea, I finally solved the problem a few months ago with fucking head & shoulder.

if acne is an issue its probably too much sebum clogging pores in addition to feeding the fungus that causes dandruff(if its dry tiny balls that fall on your shoulders its dry scalp, if its flakey and yellowish its fungal dandruff) either way get a 3% salicylic acid shampoo or a 1% coal tar shampoo and use that once every 2 weeks to keep things from building up and you can replace head and shoulders with a piroctone olamine or ketoconazole shampoo to use once a week instead of head and shoulders. Condition well after every use.

bottom line, wash less, with more effective products, leave shampoos on scalp for 5-10 minutes in shower every time you use it

Got2Be Beach Matt Paste, just a touch for the front really.

Then once my hair fully dried I use a very very small amount wax and a hairdryer for any stray strands.

How do I deal with frizzy hair? My hair is like pic related, except more dry and my hair curls more.

I've followed the most common advice given

After I shower, I towel dry my hair a little, and then I add a leave in conditioner, but I have no idea if I'm even using it correctly. If I leave it a little, my hair tends to curl more. If I work it completely in till damp hair is dry, it just gets a bit like pic related.

Use a shirt instead of a towel to dry your hair, use it to make sure it's not soaking wet anymore and then let your hair air dry.
I have long curly hair, shirt drying helped me the most to deal with frizzyness.

Leave-in conditioner is fine, i use it too, just don't overdo it. I usually apply it to the ends of my hair while it's still wet and then comb it through to spread the conditioner out evenly. Some hair mousse can be handy to keep hair in it's place. Curly hair is pretty difficult to maintain but it's certainly worth it, don't fall for the buzzcut meme.

I thought you were supposed to use pomade on damp hair? It's the only thing I've found that can control it through a day and stop it frizzing. I don't use loads, just enough to make the hair stick to other hair and lie right. I did grow it out once and other than having it in a bun there was nothing else I could do with it. Pomade is probably the worst thing you can do for that hair type (I have the same).

That cut's going to turn out completely differently than you think.

1. Your hair is super curly and I really doubt that when cut to the same lengths you're gonna get the same look. That model with the fringe looks like he has wavy type hair.

2. That style relies a lot on layering for effect, layering that won't be very apparent because you have dark brown/black hair compared to dirty blond in the reference pic. Take it from another guy who has dark hair, I couldn't figure out why my haircuts never looked like model pics. The hair color makes a big difference.

how would you define my features? The hair I have right now goes down to the base of my neck/a bit down on my shoulders in the back, and sorta hangs halfway in the middle.
