I picked up an automatic Vostok with a 24 hour dial, put it on NATO and fell in love with it. It started gaining around an hour a day, and like I expected, it was heavily magnetized. After demagnetizing it to where it no longer has any effect on a compass, it is still gaining around an hour per day. Can this be fixed or is that what I get for buying a 97 dollar automatic slavshit watch?

The tuna does several thing right that the other don't. The diver with the saw tooth bezel has the indices date window that I don't like and that wierd fake screw in the end links.
The first diver looks great but it has the goofy oversized power reserve, the more subdued one on the tuna is much nicer.

Yes and no. I have another 7000 on the way but it's gold finish so I'd have to take the gold off the links with emery paper or something to make them match.
NOW after I bought the gold one all these jap assholes start unloading their broken SS 7000 that I could maybe pick up cheap. It's a shame to damage one watch to repair another and then a better alternative pops up.

The 8650 is the tighest (credibly) specced quartz wristwatch ever made. I have read some second-hand accounts of interviews with Seiko engineers from the time that thought the Citizen spec was unrealistic, even with an AT crystal, without compensation - but then again, I've also read that essentially all HAQ accuracy claims from the 70s were significantly inflated, so who knows.

The 9983-7000 is probably the nicer-looking of the two, but I would say just slightly. I prefer the handset on the citizen. The indices on the Seiko are of course more elaborate. The dial on the citizen is slightly textured; much more subtle than the seiko but very attractive from the right angle.

But what I wear imitates the stuff workers/military used to wear in the last century, so I'm guessing what I need is also what would be a last century equivalent of a digital watch - no flair, just practicality and precision. The gold one I got it for 10 euros, it's a little beat up and the gold in some areas is looking like it's burned or something, I think it's a reaction from the sweat trough the years. I like the look the years have thrown at it so I don't mind much, worst is the silver one, since it's a resin case it has started to peel and expose some plastics.
