at what price point do extreme diminishing returns come in?

In terms of function and ability to tell time and materials/finish, can't honestly see how a $7,000 mechanical watch is 10x better than a $700 watch

The ratings never make any sense because it's always based on them having the "right" opinions on watches. Archie is good for how many videos realistically? You laugh the shtick, go "yeah a speedmaster. explorer 2, (forget the last one), is a cool collection." And then you kinda stop watching them. If you base it by entertainment value it's probably gonna be TGV and one more watch even if you hate the seiko dick sucking or chinese specials.

>Theo & Harris
I don't know what theo is larping as, it's like TGV but instead of english gentleman hes pretending to be Wall Street, and is really into being a yuppie
>Time Teller
Weird chip on his shoulder with the audience that watches it, doesn't really buy anything that cool despite having the money for it. Sucks seiko's dick
>Frederico
Speaks like a faggot and does weird pauses, when he says "taaake ..care" at the end his cheeks get rosy and it feels like hes gonna have a stroke. Videos are not that entertaining or informative. I find it so hard to believe that delray watches pays his rent in miami, like why would anyone go there instead of chrono24
>Nutnfancy
He is impressed by anything that functions, it's all on the same level of quality to him.
>Teddy
Teddy's videos have no substance, everything he makes feels like he spent 10 minutes on google or amazon looking for a specific set of parameters. Almost never gets watches in, no real insight. His own collection feels like he just bought what goes best with different sweater vests. I think hes a fraud that just started the channel for $ after seeing how formulaic and easy watch channels are.

I think this is a good place to ask,
Can magnetism cause damage to a movement beyond what can be corrected by demagnetizing?
I picked up an automatic Vostok with a 24 hour dial, put it on NATO and fell in love with it. It started gaining around an hour a day, and like I expected, it was heavily magnetized. After demagnetizing it to where it no longer has any effect on a compass, it is still gaining around an hour per day. Can this be fixed or is that what I get for buying a 97 dollar automatic slavshit watch?

The 8650 is the tighest (credibly) specced quartz wristwatch ever made. I have read some second-hand accounts of interviews with Seiko engineers from the time that thought the Citizen spec was unrealistic, even with an AT crystal, without compensation - but then again, I've also read that essentially all HAQ accuracy claims from the 70s were significantly inflated, so who knows.

The 9983-7000 is probably the nicer-looking of the two, but I would say just slightly. I prefer the handset on the citizen. The indices on the Seiko are of course more elaborate. The dial on the citizen is slightly textured; much more subtle than the seiko but very attractive from the right angle.
