Redpill me on this brand, I've seen it a bunch of times in public but it was mostly all middle aged dudes with hoodies. Is this some type of boomer brand?

>> No.13910740

TNF was the Canada Goose immediately preceding Canada Goose

>> No.13910748

north face 700 eternal wisdom
don't buy supreme collabs they have cool jackets and hats - i think arcteryx and patagonia have overtaken TNF otherwise as the more normie oriented outdoorsy-leisure brand but all of them have good pieces imo. north face purple label is worth checking out.

>> No.13910749

It's Patagonia except worse.

>> No.13911006

>>13910616
North Face isn't the most technically impressive brand and it's reinvented itself as more streetwear. I will add that North Face Japan/North Face Purple is really cool, but it's not really TNF but Nanamica with TNF branding.

>> No.13911094

>>13910749
It's way better than Patagonia lol

>> No.13911170

Great brand that makes durable, well-performing outerwear and bags. Patagonia isn't nearly as innovative, but Arcteryx is better than TNF, but the price difference also reflects that.

It's what asian kids on long island were buying 15 years ago. It was like how Canada Goose is today.

If you're in America I'd get something more interesting like Fjallraven or Alpha Industries

>boomer brand
in london it's worn by wannabe bad boys who are 14, roadmen who are 18 and students or young adults trying to act like they're cool in their 20s

>> No.13911301

fine brand, their most popular streetwear stuff is their Nuptse puffer, vintage gore tex jackets, and their backpacks

Their newer stuff is just not as nice

>>13911186
no alpha industries jackets are not good

>>13910616
It's upper middle-range clothes and equipment for going /out/. I guess just like most performance brands, lots of boomers like to wear them despite not partaking actively in the activities the clothes were intended for.

>> No.13911329

i live in northwest england and pretty much every single male aged 12-35 is wearing NF as streetwear and/or outers at any given time. we also get some of the worst rain in the country though so there's probably some genuine weatherproofing going on as well as normie memeing.

>> No.13911539

In the Netherlands the brand became popular among youths a few years ago, in particular the black jackets with hoods.
Before that it was mainly old ladies.

I wouldn’t compare the brand directly to Patagonia. It is much more wide spread and cheaper. Most sports and outdoor stores stock it for years now while Patagonia is harder to come by

>> No.13911571

>>13911539
tnf isn't cheaper than patagonia, they're pretty much the same. parkas around 500, shorter jackets around 300.

>> No.13911906

North face - outdoors/streetwear
Patagonia - outdoors/finance
Arcteryx - outdoors/tech

Basically if u are skiing in aspen u better rock some patagonia

>Mainly the Junya Watanabe and yes even the Supreme stuff.
Literal moneygrabs, no added value besides design, most of the time just atrocious shit for hypebeasts.

Would buy pieces of their Summit series instead of the collabs, that would make a lot more sense, because that's actual tech gear, not their basic stuff with some faggy design via collab brands.

You're an idiot.

They occupy completely different stylistic niches as well as economic.

Maybe in the US. TNF Gore-Tex jackets go for less than €200 here while most waterproof Patagonia jackets start at €250 and look like shit.
In general all lower end Patagonia stuff looks quirky as hell (shiny material, weird colors) while TNF is very consistent (all black - white logo)

any thoughts on brand pic related?
All I know is that I got a bag from them and it's been serving me well for 4 years of university. (I have not had a bag before that would last this long with everything perfectly intact, specifically zippers. => highly recommend their bags)

but is their other stuff any good/ and what do ppl think about it?

Is there an English word for "Spießer"?
Well, Jack Wolfskin is the most un/fa/ brand you could wear, it doesn't even work "ironically".

For "Spießer" the English word is "Snob".

>> No.13914198

But if you're a snob, you're probably rich and privileged. Rees-Mogg is a snob. A Spießer is a married 40 year old who has a boring office job, wears socks and sandals while being on vacation on Mallorca, owns a small house in the suburbs and whose biggest pride is his perfectly trimmed garden hedge.

They've got everything from streetwear to mountaineering stuff. It's a weird brand. I know it mostly from college where frat boys and sorority girls wore it even though they've never climbed a mountain in their life and we lived in Texas where it doesn't get down past 40 usually.
