I had a 2013 Polo before this one which I'm basing my projections on since I got this one very recently,
I got a friend who runs an unlicensed VAG specialized garage so I'd say on average my entire costs run up to $400-500 a year and I average 3 visits a year - registration and two 10k km filter changes and check-up, all with legit parts.

It's hundreds of dollars but seems like a fair price, especially considering I go fairly hard on it.

Why aren't BMWs, Mercedes and Audis more common in the US if so many people like them and view them as luxury items? It certainly isn't because of financial literacy as most people don't have any. I am asking this because in Europe, say Spain. The average wage is around 15,000USD a year. Whereas in the US 50,000USD is pretty common yet you see way better cars in Spain even though in the US wages are higher and cars are dirt cheap. What am I not getting here? Are there like crazy expensive taxes you need to pay like 5K a year or something on these cars hence why people don't buy them? Sure, you will see a couple but considering US wages etc., not as much as I'd expect. For example in Dubai where prices are similar to US, you see much more "expensive" cars than in the US — also considering middle class, not the ultra rich arabs. And it certainly isn't cultural either as americans are very show-off and all around image based so please enlighten me fag/o/ts

The rx-8 isnt as cool as the older rx-7 imo, and most mazda fans will agree from what I've seen. with that being said, this car still relines at 9,000 and is fast as hell for the price unmodified. it also gets sideways super easy with the traction control turned off.
