about 5 threads new here.

so a $300 shitter does the same thing as a $15k Rolex. and a $250 skx007 does the same thing as a $10k grand Seiko

besides simply buying something because you like how it looks, at what price point are people just getting memed over quality?

and don't do that car comparison crap. you can really tell and actually feel the difference with different quality and tiers of cars. a watch freaking sits on your wrist (or from what I can see in this thread just in boxes). it's not like it's something you are actively experiencing

Customer brought in an SKX today. The links that connect the endlinks to the rest of the bracelet got stretched out somehow, gotta bend those back.

So anyway it's kind of a larger watch that I though from photos, it's actually a nice man-size diver. Here it is next to a 36mm Pre-Bond, and a first-gen Amphibia wreck for scale. Didn't have any more recent divers on me for comparison.

Nothing really rare, more like obscure, forgotten vintage shitters, probably with lower production runs.

Right now working on this Swiss-made Royce Mexico, pretty obscure, there's almost no data on it on the web. It looks like an experiment of using as much plastic as possible in the watch. Nylon case, thick plastic crystal (doesn't feel like normal acrylic), and even the dial is injection-molded plastic, which is completely unusual. Only metal parts are hands, the Swiss handwinding AS movement, the crown and the stem.

Good morning wt

The Bulova accuquartz was a too little, too late effort from Bulova to adapt to the quartz crisis. It's essentially a Bulova 218 tuning fork watch retrofitted with a quartz timing package - instead of running at the fork's natural frequency, the driving coils force it to run at 341hz, regulated by a 32khz quartz crystal. The geartrain is mostly parts-comoatible with the 218; only one wheel is changed to account for the different fork frequency. In particular, the 320-tooth index wheel is parts compatible. Like many watches of the period (Seiko, longines, jlc, GP, others), it includes a geometric representation of a quartz crystal on the dial.

Eh...three of the same thing? It's not my cup-o-tea, to be honest. I hate having duplicates unless I expect something to wear out or have to be replaced. Granted, if you love the design, then why not.

I find these days I simply don't have time for more than 2 watches max in the rotation. The other ones just don't get worn, and sadly I don't miss them. Even my secondary only gets worn because it's a chronograph...but for no other reason. I like it, don't get me wrong...but my primary is the one I trust in all circumstances. So, three of the same watch would be overkill for me.

China or Casio.

Wanna digital watch? Casio is perfect (saving up for a g-shock is a good idea).

Want something else? Go to aliexpress and gearbest and look for something like parnis, starking, guanquin, carnival etc. Also post your watch if you will go with this option. You will see the /wt/ burn and this shit tends to be funny.

which watch would you recommend to compliment the rest of my collection? I was thinking one that I can wear on a metal bracelet yet still be different enough from the rest.

Maybe you should consider something formal. The remaining watches are all 'tool' watches...get something goldish, even if it's not expensive. See pic.

Sometimes you need to go outside the comfort zone Anon...and who knows, you might like it enough to stay longer.

Nice watch, but I read that the small 63's with the single line of dial text aren't official? Can anyone clarify this please?
Also I might be too picky but I'd prefer an automatic, at this point I may have to settle though.
