Tried on the denim jacket he's wearing here this weekend. I don't know how much fabric they took out to have it fit him like that, but it certainly feels much more like a jacket than a shirt off the rack.

Would this kind of thing be hard to tailor or just expensive?

>> No.13876729

it just depends on where it needs to be taken in to fit

It's too wide around the middle for me, but the sleeves are a little tight. That shirt-like fit feels possible if it were a little tighter. The back is one large panel of denim, would it be taken in from here or from the sides?

>> No.13876748

>>13876742
this actually looks good as is but if you do want it tailored they would take it from the middle to avoid an unnecessary seam in the back, fucking up the single panel of denim. it can be taken from either place though depending on the garment

Why does my jacket look like a jacket?

Thanks anon, there were some smaller panels on the side that looked more suitable, is this what you mean?

>>13876760
Yeah re-reading that my wording is retarded. I was just reiterating what was said in the last thread; the jacket in the film is fitted to him more like a shirt, when in reality it has a much larger body than what you see on screen. I realise this is dumb to point out, but this is a thread about autists trying to dress like an autist.

yeah and the alteration itself will be hidden behind the sleeve anyway, hope it works out mane

You can do it, but it fits nicely as a jacket.

Keep it like that. Any thinner and it would look like a girls jacket

But his doesn't look like that in the movie, it just looks super slim fitting.

Also any idea were to get dupes/similar sunglasses that he wears? His are Selima Optique but they seem to have discontinued that colour, and are also too expensive just a secret cosplay.

Are you trying to emulate that guy that turned his life around by emulating Ryan Gosling?

>> No.13876848

>>13876835
lmao no, great story though. I wanted to dress as the Driver for a halloween party years ago, but was far too skinny. I've kept thinking about it and since then I've just wanted to gather all the pieces he wears from the movies and wear them occasionally. Like a collection.

Don't change it. That looks really good how it is.

Really like this fit. What boots are those?

A pair from a local retailer, not a real brand or label to them. I like them but am planning on being a pair of Iron Rangers or something later on, something that will last a long time.

And a pair of Stacy Adams, obviously.

That SLUM FIT denim jacket is a movie piece. Wearing something like that IRL is a terrible, uncomfortable idea and there's a reason almost no one bothers.

It felt like it could be taken in a little bit for a better fit. Obviously it would need to be to match the film piece, but as far as jackets go, it was a pretty good fit for my frame.

Not to point out the obvious, you realize those lower waist tabs exist to tighten up the waist on these jackets... right?

>> No.13879515

>>13879308
Yep, but not to the same extent has having it tailored around the waist. I'm tall and lean and those tabs wouldn't do enough.
