My dad is telling me that I should "make sure I use what I buy" given that it'll go off eventually.
I keep my samples and bottles as out of the sun as I can, given I've got an east facing window in my room.
My bottles are huddled behind a cabinet away from direct sunlight and the temps are typical for english weather.
Do I worry about using up my bottles in the next 5-10 years, or am I safe?

your dad is a lying sack of shit. just keep it out of sunlight and away from heat and you're good. I have a bottle of obsession from the early 90s and it's unbelievably rich. much deeper than the current formulation. I'd say with age the base notes become "thicker" so to speak.

I stocked up on them cos they're notorious for putting out fragrances for a year and then discontinuing them all together. for about 30 bucks a bottle it's an absolute steal for how good the scent is and its above average longevity.

Can somebody explain what Notino is? Why is it so cheap?

Looking at Bentley for Men Intense and it’s £70 at Harrods and £26 on Notino.

>> No.13871449

>>13871339
Allure Homme Sport is Versace PH with orange, basically

>> No.13871495

>>13871438
Different business models. No physical shop to rent, hire and manage stuff means lower costs (and Harrods is a particularly expensive one). They also probably buy back older batches from retail shops. I posted above about YSL Kouros being on 50% sale at my local shop. It's probably due to low sales on that particular frag and this whole batch of Kouros is approaching the time limit of storing fragrances there, so they try to sell it desperately little above the value they got it from the producer. In this case 50% down means that it is (way) cheaper than on notino/fragnet right now. You know what's the next step if they still won't be able to get rid of this batch even with that promotion? They'll probably sell it to notino/fragnet and they'll sell you it back only for 10% extra. With such low maintenance costs as online shops have they can sell them that cheap and then multiply profit by volume of sales. Eventually you'll find someone to buy it and you only pay for servers, warehouses and low qualified workers to pack and send these frags.

>> No.13871500

>>13871495
This being said, don't be worried about buying frags from there. Testers on fragnet are also legit (and you can save extra 10-20%).

Yeah, I don’t know why so many people seem to be saying 1 Million is good all of a sudden. I guess 4chan’s contrarian tendencies popping up again. Not trying to be a fragrance snob or anything, there are a lot of cheaper and very popular mainstream scents that are great. One Million is just loud, and not in a good way.

I like sweet scents, but One Million is way too sweet. Smells like candy. I find it very juvenile. To me, it seems like what a 16 year old would wear when he thinks he’s too fancy for Axe. I don’t know why people think it’s sexy. I couldn’t take a dude seriously if he smelled like fruity cinnamon gum.

They'd rather get rejected smelling like wet beaver asshole than wear a clubbing banger and actually get pussy. A good representation is YouTube reviewers. Look at the most successful fragrance channel. Jeremy is rich enough to buy every fragrance in existence and he does delve into niche at times, but he knows if you look good, you can pull off crowd-pleasers. And he does. Only slobs and ugly geeks worship niche because it's just another reason for them to justify their rejection. "Well I didn't like her anyway because she doesn't have the sophisticated nose to really appreciate the civet I apply behind my ears hurt durr". Man, I've been putting off this meme for a while now. Managed to build a decent collection this year but I always keep thinking about Eros.

I first smelled it in April and I loved the minty opening and apple but couldn't stand super cloying sweetness. Despite that, I have a feeling it'll be amazing now that it's colder. The bottle design is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen.

FFL has been one of my favorites for years. It’s a precursor to all the new fangled sweet woody ambers (Eros, Ultra Male) and it came out before 1 Million too. And yes, its confirmed arthoe destroyer. Most frags by Annick Menardo are, though.

Is Aventus actually a decent fragrance for a grown up, or too overhyped/bromode? Looking for a new year-round general purpose wear.

Also, where do you guys get your testers/samples from? All I have near me are the typical low end department stores. Is ebay legit?

It's over hyped but expensive enough that you won't smell it around you often. Maybe if you work in a big corporation, but otherwise it's rare enough for people who like it on you to ask you what it is. I'm not a fan of Aventus but it's given me a lot of compliments and that's the only reason people actually wear it.

Grey Vetiver is classed as a masculine fragrance but in an executive environment I think it can be unisex.

Can I give you all a little advice? I see a lot of guys who claim to be older saying they wear those candy-sweet clubbing frags because that’s what young girls like.

Let me let you in on a little secret: young girls fucking live older guys. Young girls think that if a sophisticated older man wants to be with them, it means they’re special, and they love having you to show off to their friends. Also helps that as an older dude, you have money, a car, and your own place, and aren’t an awkward, spergy fuck like most teenage guys. Also, young girls are dumb because they have no life experience yet, so you don’t actually need to be handsome, and rich, and sophisticated, you just have to have your shit together. A 35 year old who has his shit together is a helluva lot more attractive than a 17 year old who still lives with his mom. These girls don’t know how to adult yet, so they don’t really know about status. They generally just assume that all adults who aren’t obvious failures are successful.

So here’s the thing: they don’t want you to dress or smell like a teenager. They want a daddy. They want an older guy they can show off. Wearing a more mature scent only adds to your appeal with them.

Also, just as an aside: older dudes who brag about getting teenage pussy; it’s not impressive. It’s shooting fish in a barrel. Like, enjoy, have fun, but don’t act like you’re special because you can do it. We all can.

Depends. If your body odour goes well with the frag then you might not need it, but otherwise yeah. I guess it's difficult to know what goes well with your body odour but some people have spicy body odour and it would go along well with other spicy frags.
