So, I like wearing suitpants, waistcoats, bowties; not exactly formal wear, but definitely not streetwear, either.

Problem being, that, way too often, I end up looking like I´m 52 and working in banking or some other straight-to-suicide bullshit line-of-work.

How do I avoid this? What are some tricks that allow me to pull off semi-formal wear without looking like I´m taking myself way too important?

waistcoat, unbuttoned shirt no bow tie, casual pattern shirts instead of solids, confidence and a better demeanor would help, dont act like a pompous ass and you wont seem like you’re taking yourself way too important.

25, but sadly looking older, which is why I kinda don´t want my style of dressing to make me look even older.

>>13871293
Not tryna start some shit, but I have no idea what you´re trying to tell me.

>>13871300
I never really do that, to be honest; I´m not even sure if I DO seem like I feel way too self-important, I just feel like that´s how people see me if I dress that way. If you catch my drift.

personally would advise it unless you do actually work for a bank. some kid at my school dressed like this and everyone thought he was mega autistic. but something like a nice pair of slacks/chinos and a tucked in dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the top buttons unbuttoned doesn't look bad. still though, i feel like that look has got to fit you.

I´m not going that far, luckily. I already combine those things with sneakers/boots, rolled-up sleeves

I dress similarly; the trick is to have one piece of clothing that "modernizes" the whole fit. and/or loosening up on other pieces of clothing.

For example instead of going with a match in suit, go for a mix-and-match fit, with a equally as nice sportcoat/blazer with a different pants.

Wear a bomber with a formal pants, shirt, and shoes.

Wear matching sportcoat and pants but rock it with lowtops sneakers.

I dsay its about balance.

Try going for those casual blazers like at uniqlo that look almost like sweaters, or cotton ones instead of wool

Note that wearing waistcoats and bowties are gatsby larp because nobody working in bank 2018 dresses that way. People would see you as mega autist not a millionaire (because you aren't).

Wear like you interested in fashion or women not interested in snowflake larp.
