There are tons of cosmotron models. In my view the best ones are the 7803A and the 5800. The 7803A has a gravity-operated day/date quickset, a 36k balance, and a zero-reset function that can also zero the minute hand. The 5800 has a 43,200vph balance, one of the fastest hairspring-regulated wristwatches in history.

Idk if this is helpful, but here it is after I charged it briefly over a lightbulb. It's decent lume. If you're interested at all in the Vostok I would say get it. There's no other watch like it at this price point. Military grade, automatic, decently accurate, 200 water resistance, great movement duration (10 years reportedly), super cheap to get replacement parts for, tons of designs to choose from, it has hacking if you know how to back hack, usually 100 dollars or less, and it's a cult status watch.

Unlike most quartz watches that use a silver-oxide battery this watch uses a wet cell. You put it under a faucet to fill the reservoir with water. There are two different metals in the reservoir which create a current, which provides power to the watch. You can see the holes for the water to get in to the reservoir here on the right.

They were made for a couple of years in the 90s. They're not the most practical watch in the world but as long as you remember to water them every week or so, depending on the climate, they work pretty well.

I had a nightmare my watch had a damaged index wheel. Always remember to never set the time backwards on a tuning fork watch.

Tuning fork watches use an index wheel system to advance the geartrain. The index wheel teeth are very (very) small and the index wheel is an easily damaged part of the watch. When the wheel is being ratcheted forward by the tuning fork and finger pawls, it works pretty well. But imagine if you tried to turn the index wheel backwards. The fingers wouldn't ratchet, and you end up shearing off the teeth. This is how index wheels, the most commonly damaged (and completely irreparable) parts of a tuning fork watch, are damaged.

When you set a watch, the minute and hour hands turn independently of the second hand because of the tension in the cannon pinion. It slips against the rest of the geartrain. But if the tension is not absolutely perfectly adjusted, this will put some tension on the rest of the geartrain. In traditional mechanical watches this can cause back hacking, or even cause the second hand to run in reverse. This doesn't cause any damage - it's just turning the escape wheel backwards, and that wheel can easily take it. But in a tuning fork watch, it turns the index wheel backwards, which causes the aforementioned damage.

Don't do it. It's a pain - especially on day/date models with no quickset - but it's not worth it.

IWC? Lol no. They use "modified" ETAs and Sellitas - although it actually sounds like they have Sellita just make a movement with slightly different finishing so it can be exclusive for IWC; I haven't seen any evidence that IWC employees make any additional changes.

IWC's high end stuff (the recent pallweber, the astronomical complication) is more exclusive, and is probably made by somebody at Richemont, but their sub-30k watches aren't.

The issue with cheese paste is it's consistency. Ketchup flows easily, easily enough to pour with little force, yet viscous enough to remain inside a packet with an edge cut off. Besides, cheese paste comes in containers much too large to be slipped into a jacket sleeve.
