a good starter drugstore routine would be:
- wash with gentle cleanser (cetaphil for sensitive skin, dove unscented bar, etc)
- moisturize (cerave lotion or cetaphil lotion)

just go to a derma, talk about permanent fixings. Derma appts take fucking forever to schedule, I went yesterday for a referral and I got mine scheduled in fucking Feb. They gave me some starter prescriptions to try in the meantime - tretinoin cream at night, clinda lotion for mornings, and a 4% benzoyl peroxide wash (this you buy at cvs). I use a witch hazel toner and put face oils on at night. Then, come by Feb, I'll hopefully get prescribed accutane or something for my radical acne scars and oily skin.

its really funny how much Americans spend on skin care. the biggest affect on your skin isnt the cleansing. its the input. foods and drink. do your self a favour. cut out meat, dairy and sugar for two months. drink at least 2 liters of water a day. youll find that along with a basic face cleanser and moisturiser, all of that will clear up. for real. i had worse acne than you. way into my 20s and after a solid diet change i have next to no acne.

Not sure what kind of acne you have but you can probably prevent the discoloration (the dark colored spots the pimples leave behind) with witch hazel on cotton balls. It has helped me. I just wish I didn't pick at my face so much. It's a bad habit of mine that is getting the better of me. The more I pick at my skin the worse it looks. Good luck.
