They're good as a meme, bad as actual clothing, just like every other Vetements piece.

All of Demna's stuff is just the apotheosis of the whole "runway fashion is about a theme, not about wearable fits" redditcore bullshit whenever they get confused.

We'll, part of the brand's mission is to produce pieces that can fit into your existing wardrobe. They make interesting statement pieces, and decking yourself out in head to toe Vetements looks ridiculous because that's not the intention.
More on topic, I think the Vetements sock runners are a great concept. They make a mockery of the "sock-like sneaker" trend by literally slapping an athletic sock (a piece of theirs that was already iconic in streetwear) on a chunky sole. They look nice, too, as a designed object, but the clash of the style of the upper and sole that make them so worthwhile also make them impossible to style in a standalone fit.
Pic related is the Reebok Run.r 96, which puts the contemporary looking Reebok archival sole to much more wearable use.

Imagine how fast they will get dirty, but i guess it's ok, vetememes buyers aren't famous for their rationality anyway.
