So I recently became interested in watches. I ordered a new Seiko a few weeks ago and my dad really liked it. He kept grumbling boomerisms like "can't get enough of that watch son" and "wish I had a watch like that"

So I'm gonna get him a new one for Christmas. Never really paid any attention to his watch so I went to check and what I find is this, a literal 20 year old dusty shitter. So what I know is that he needs something with a quartz movement, chronograph because he likes the look, and under 40mm. Preferably between 36-38mm. I've been having trouble finding something with all these specifications. Its hard to find chronograph watches with a small diameter. And it can't be too expensive because he simply will not wear it, he's a very conservative guy.

Does anybody have any recommendations? I found one that I think is close. I'll link it in my next post, but I'm open to ideas.

Oh yeah, the strap is dog anus quality leather. I think a lot of straps would go with your watch, it's down to your preference. I'd go with either a NATO strap, a Milanese loop strap or a good quality rubber strap. As long as you don't go with a stupid color I think most straps should be good.

Help me pick a strap for under 10 dollars for my SNK809. Pic is the strap I've been wearing so far. Little to no texture, plus I had to trim the ends to fit the lugs, it doesn't look very elegant I think. So I'm looking for a casual but not too casual look.
