Naturally dark blonde/light brown, but I had been dyeing it black for 5 years before I started bleaching it, so that made it a lot more difficult.

I have it cut in layers and at a bunch of different lengths e.g. how the front left is significantly shorter than the front right. Within each section, I try to get the length to vary slightly (a cm at most) to prevent it clumping together too much, and do that without much of a pattern, so if I layed a section out flat it would look like a frame of one of those audio visualiser things.
I use a straightener to put some waves in since its naturally straight, and some hairspray/sea salt spray if I want extra volume. The bleach helps with that since it makes it really dry. Its not meant for this but when it clumps together, styling fibre is good at making it piece-y again. Also detangling spray if its too frizzy.
I have to shampoo and condition it with special violet stuff every day to keep the color. Idk if they only sell this stuff in violet but I also use this restoration mask thing that I get bundled with those, which supposedly prevents breakages and stuff, but I've never really had a problem with that, so I'm not sure how well it works.
Its thin in that the diameter of each hair is small, but I think in terms of follicle density its fairly thick actually. The bleach also could've thinned it a little, idk. Sorry if none of that made any sense, I'm not very good at teaching people things.
Since I've had pretty much this hairstyle since 2012, its become more willing to naturally fall closer to how I want it, so its probably easier for me than it will be for you if you decide to try for it. Good luck if you do though.

Hair thin as fuck on top, already made a thread questioning if I’m balding like a mf or not. The fuck do I do with it. I really wanna grow it but the middle is so thin from the front to the crown that I feel like I’m fucked if I ride it out for the next 2+ years until it’s really noticeable.
