I own one pair of shoes. Pic related. I just buy them on Amazon, wear them til they wear out, then buy them again. I wear them to work, out and about, and when dressing up. I wore them to graduation this summer, and it probably looked awful, but I didn't care. I think I should start caring.
I have foot problems (bear weight on my metatarsal heads), so I need a shoe that can accommodate a Powerstep insole insert, making most dressy shoes incompatible. I also can't wear anything with a heel due to the pressure it puts on the ball of the foot.
I need more shoes. Where do you guys buy shoes? Buying online is risky, I hate not trying before I buy, that's part of why I just keep buying the same thing, I know it fits.

why not walk it down to a shoe shop and try a few pairs on?

Oooooh man. Get yourself to a DSW, or go to Zappos (free shipping and returns). Please burn those.

Just go to a shoe shop, if you're worried about anyone ever judging you in a shop, remember you probably earn more than them

Thanks. There's a Shoe Sensation about half an hour from here. Are they worth checking out?

if you buy two pairs they will last more than twice as long because they wont be permanently warm and sweaty

This makes sense.
With winter coming, what would /fa/ suggest as a core shoe? Something professional looking but also built to withstand the cold, snow, and salt?

Buy two pairs of new balances and your insoles

Wear each one alternating

So the shoes air out and the swear doesn't build up disintegrate the mid soles they'll last longer show trees in sneakers are also helpful if they have leather uppers

about the shoes : yep, they look like shit. check out reebok, they have nice and clean classic model that are comfortable and reasonably cheap. le coq sportif and nike also have some good things. seek the simple and clean looking pairs. personally i'm wearing a pair of filling pieces, not that model but i like those : https://www.fillingpieces.com/collections/innovation/products/low-curve-iceman-trimix-dark-grey
i also own a pair of buttero.

>Buying online is risky
just measure your feet, check against the size guide, send a message to the brand if you're not sure, and then order two sizes. i have ordered like 7 pair of shoes from internet last time because i had no clue what the fuck i wanted and i'm glad i did - turned out the pair i really liked and kept was the one i was the most unsure about when ordering. the shipping can cost you so use paypal (they refund you the return shipping cost if you ask).
