This may not work for you but it did for me. I was having the same problem with wispy uncontrollable hair and decided to stop shampooing it and instead using shower cream/ shower milk. (I also don't use conditioner anymore since it was making my hair greasy as hell). It seems to be working pretty well for me so maybe try it out I guess

Comb/ brush your hair back after showing and let it dry a bit slicked back. Rough it up a bit with a towel to dry it more and put some volume into it. Brush it back again and use a hairdryer to blow the hair back (dry your hair upside down for a few seconds to add volume). Bush it back one last time and once you are happy with the look spray some hairspray into it.

I don't think its bad, but if you're looking to change it then I have some thoughts. Not sure how much of this is just the angle/pose, but it seems like the combination of your hair being long and dark makes your head look longer and your neck smaller (assuming you don't let it all fall behind your shoulders). If either of those bother you, maybe try a lighter color or cutting it a little and playing with a bunch of products depending on what you're less opposed to. That or get super /fit/ and go full Andrew WK, idk.

Can't tell from this but assuming it doesnt grow straight everywhere, then let it keep going and see how you like the extra volume. If you're a fan of more "dynamic" hairstyles, then that along with some of that styling fiber stuff should open up a few options. If not, then I guess just use more/better conditioner and brush/comb it more often if you don't want it to be messy, although I'd guess it probably looks better a little disheveled.

How do you take care of hair that is super oily? I've shampoo'd every day for years because if I don't my hair feels really greasy and weighted down. Recently it's been getting a really dry/coarse feel to it that I think might be due to the cold weather even though it's never happened before.

Really miss my hair being this long, too. Made the mistake of cutting it down to about 5" long and now I have no idea what to do with it.

Damn sorry to hear it anon, I'm bald myself but just because of mpb, If you want to keep the hair I'd say ditch the gel, it can make your hair look alot thicker, I would avoid any close cuts or short hairstyles for now since it will only make the areas without hair more obvious, you're lucky enough to have a solid hairline at the front so if you ever choose to shave it shouldn't look bad, but in the long run I think you're fighting a battle you already lost, if you have the money for a hair transplant go for it now or just accept your fate as a bald dude and shave it
