The difference with the ll bean norwegian sweater is that it is quintessentially 80s prep and has a strong personality, it is "that one preppy sweater". you are retarded. europrep is almost the same as US prep but with more #menswear elements. half the US prep shit comes from Europe anyway, just about all of the knitwear and suiting developments (including 3/2), and certain inventions such as polo shirts.
prep isn't exclusive to the US, at the end of the day prep is just useful clothing, polo shirts for playing tennis, button down collars for playing polo, chinos because they are in your closet and you aren't a poorfag (see Neill Diamond song), knitwear because it is cold.
People wore the same shit in Europe at the time (less button down collars because we didn't all larp as polo players at the time), but we have more than one subculture so don't feel the need to larp as one specific one all of the time so prep isn't that much of a cultural icon here.

My city streets are like a minefield, all full of these. Its easy to put your feet on one and get all your pants full of dirty water. Thats why I have 2 repeated, so when one is washing I can use the other one
