How come it's socially acceptable for women to wear these boots but not men? If a man was to wear these around he'd be seen a flamboyant homosexual.

They look cool as fuck. Maybe anime has warped my perspective.

They're derived from riding boots. As equestrian became more and more of a female thing since the rise of automobiles and the fall of cavalry in the military, it became a feminine style to wear riding boots.
Combine that with the "hooker boots" association and it has become night impossible for men to wear high boots.

Keep it below the knee level and you should be okay. Look up riding boots and get an idea of what to avoid.
Those afrika korps guys go to below the knee. Even look at the anime examples. They end off below the knee and have long legs in general. Whereas riding boots tend to go just over the knee as in OP or that >>13713034 thing.

So rules are, keep it below the knee. And make sure the boots are subordinate to the rest of the outfit. They shouldn't draw too much attention. Especially avoid boots that flare further up.
The boots you posted should be fine. Wearing higher ones will be more difficult. But live your dreams faggot.

And they're waterproof, but weigh nothing compared to wellingtons. I've owned their Galway, Tipperary and Wexford Models. I'd say the Tipperary is my favourite style wise. Word to the wise, they're like a car, the minute you buy them you've lost £100. Look for used ones on ebay that somebody got as a gift or whatever, and they weren't ready for the long boot life.
I will say though, my original Tipperary pair the sole came away after using them solidly for a number of years and the Wexfords I own leak slightly in the one boot. It could just be I'm unlucky but hmmm.

I've heard good things about Ariat, but they're a bit too cowboy for me.
