Crossboarder here, first time seeing these threads.

Be careful everyone. I started out only wanting to lose a little bit of weight because I thought my thighs and stomach were fatty. Now I've got an eating disorder. I've been put into an inpatient program and forced to eat around 2500 calories a day. I was then put into a closely monitored outpatient program for about a month. I see a therapist every few weeks with my vitals and weight checked often to see if I start losing weight again. I recently stopped seeing the therapist as I was doing well with recovery, but things are starting to get bad again. I weigh myself obsessively, any solid food I try to eat makes me nauseous when I start to chew. I haven't eaten solid food in almost a week and in this week alone I have lost 10 pounds.

This isn't a path you want to go down. You will be dizzy all the time, showers will be hell because no matter how hot the water is you will still be cold and when you're washing your hair you'll have clumps of it in your hands.

Yeah I usually start my runs at 5:00-6:00 am. It's really convenient since I get it out of the way early, get a little boost in my calorie deficit and still have time to study and make it to work on time. Plus it makes me feel good.

You can have 5 lbs of food in your bowels, then there's glycogen storages which can be a few pounds, water can too.
If you crash diet you can easily remove 10 pounds from the scale in a few days especially if you get dehydrated (heck you could push 15 lbs if you tried), but you're not actually loosing fat.
It's going to come back the once you start eating normally (-any actual fat/muscle loss obviously, but that will be way less for such a short time)

That really depends on why your belly isn't flat, since there could be many things going on in that area.

The following are the normal culprits
Subcutaneous and visceral fat (you did right to cut out beer here)
Lack of abdominal muscles which makes you unable to hold your gut 'in'. if you poke your stomach and it's soft all the way even when you try to flex your abs then this is it.
Anterior pelvic tilt
Indigestion, bloat etc.

I'll just give exercises that help with the lack of muscle problem since that's what you're asking for.
Sit-ups: make sure your back is straight, don't compensate with waiving your arms.
Leg raises: for lower abs, keep your spine pushed to the floor, if you can't lower both your legs without your lower spine arching then do one leg at a time.
Plank: this is more for core in general but you need that too, helps you stand and sit up straight. Keep your body flexed the whole time, your pelvis should be tucked in it's a feeling similar to when you start doing a push up, don't just lean on your arms activate your back and shoulders to make sure your shoulder-blades don't poke out from your back.

As for sets: do them until you can't do them with right form anymore. I'd say aim for doing 200 sit ups and leg raises, 200 sec of plank as a goal. Even if you start at 10 of each a day you can get there in a month or two if you do it daily. Yeah it's a random number, but you can do it. It's way better than not having a goal. Good luck anon

My sister turned 23, so my family will celebrate it with a lot of food and cake or some other dessert tomorrow. I've been keeping my calorie deficit somewhere between 550 and 1100 a day for 3 weeks now, so I should have dropped my weight from maybe 67 kilos to something like 64 or 65, I guess. It is weird being the XL/L guy who is suddenly an S. I recently cleared out my whole wardrobe, and I have so little clothing that fits me in any decent way. I thought I was just a Medium, but everything would look baggy, and less clean and taut then I would like. I went to a clothing store today, and expected to be fitting into mediums, and found that I was a better fit for smalls.

Everything in S conformed to my abdomen and waist more appropriately than M, and there was less slack in the arms. Some things were a bit small at the chest or arm pits/shoulders (due to some genetic disposition of mass), but most S things were nearly perfect fits. Henleys look and feel really great on me. I had someone observing my fits, so I know it's not just complete illusion.

I used to weigh as much as 265lb. I'm now 158~159lb at 5'9", and that includes the excess skin I have from weight loss that is still on my body. I don't think that's even very thin, and I don't see or feel like I am thin at all. What is going on? Body dysmorphia? I don't know how to feel about all of this.

Make sure you lift heavy enough though, I messed around with 20 kg on squats for a while before I noticed that I should have been doing 45.

Btw, the picture says May and September because that's when they where taken, but I only started lifting in July and my skinny-fat problem resolved itself in about a month.

I've been making these great soups. Mushroom, Spinach, Broccolli and a bit of peas and corn. I then add a little meat to it. It comes out to around 400kcals with the meat, and it absolutely fills me up. For a few hours anyway.

When done add spinach.
Take off heat and put your portion in a bowl.
Once it's cooled down a bit crack an egg in it and stir quickly. Then add whatever meat you want on top.

That's the base. I then use different sauces and stuff to get slightly different flavours. It's super easy. If you've got more calories to spare, a bit of sesame oil in the pot, fry off some shalots and garlic before making your soup and then add sweet onions sauce and chilli powder (Or sauce, but I don't think the vinegar in most, and i don't want the taste of a sweeter chilli sauce) with some chopping chilli in there. That's a really good one.

And yeah. I can have more calorifically dense meals I guess. Being reasonably active makes thing easy. And being a fat cunt still too. It's just with this I can add up the calories fairly accurately, and then add on about 20-30% to them, easily.

To shrink my stomach I've been spreading out my meal. I'll have half a breakfast at 5am before my run then the other half around 9am. Do the same with lunch.

Perhaps I just need to do that with dinner.

What do you mean by "worth it"? Worth the effort? Because you'll get as good results as the effort you put in.

Also, it's not possible to "just tone your body". That's not a thing.
What people usually mean by "toning" is the visible results you get when you both build muscle and lose fat at the same time.

So can you 'just' do callisthenics? Sure, if you put in the effort, people get great results with it and so can you.
It makes it way easier to not push yourself enough though.
Especially if you plan on exercising at home. Doing exercises on the living room floor makes it easier to slack off and say meh, I'll do 5 reps instead og 10, 2 sets instead of 3.
Does that mean you're not going to make it? Not necessarily , but judging from your stupid fear of muscles and worrying that bothering putting in the effort to deal with the problem will be "worth it" I'd say you're not going to bother anymore after a week

Nah, of course you can do both at the same time.
It's just slower and if you want impressive results fast then bulking and cutting is the way.
If you're already more or less the size you want to be but you're skinnyfat/weak then doing both at the same time is great.

Depends a bit actually, if you're already big, you'll loose both fat and muscle, but way more fat. In that sense it's way better than just dieting alone.
Same goes if you have a lot of muscle and little fat. Mostly fat but some muscle loss.
But if you're small and have little muscle but a lot of fat you'll gain some muscle (not a lot but it will be more noticeable because of your already low weight) and lose a lot of fat. If you're in this group then lifting is better than treadmill because in addition to the calories used just for running you'll spend more on building muscle.You can see quick dramatic results, but you won't get big. (obviously it's better if you eat TDEE or slightly below and not thinspo tier diets like 800 cal a day, you'll probably just get burned of it you try that)

It's been 10 days since I started losing weight.
Went from 66.5kg to 62.5kg. I know most of it is water/glycogen storage and I'll gain that back, but I'd like to believe that at least 1.5kg of fat was lost.
I started at 800 cal per day and felt awful, but now I'm at <500 and I'm okay. I hope I can keep this up till at least 55kg.
