I have the 11 eye one + I own mono docs. They're the exact same shoe construction wise. Don't fall for the 'higher quality' meme. The only difference is Solo has a thinner plastic coating on their trash leather so they're easier to break in initially + the outsole is cut vertically instead of horizontal, but that's a pure style choice. Both are good shoes though for the price + the air sole is comfy, so pick whichever you like better visually. Sizing is about the same. Solos are maybe 1mm larger on average.

How different are the m77 pilot boots from the normal military boots? Is the eyelets and the flap on top the only difference or are they any different structurally?

Also, how comfortable are they to wear? I'm somewhat worried that while military boots might be fine for walking around for the whole day, I'm not sure if the pilot version is the same in that regard.

very. my pair came with insoles inside which are pretty good by themselves, but adding some lambswool insoles should make it even better. Picked the 290mm version (my left foot measures 280, right 285) and there's a little extra space in the front, good for wearing two pairs of socks which brings the comfy levels even higher. the only issue with sizing I have is that my heel shifts a little while walking (in one pair of socks with the stock insole), but this can be solved by padding it out with another sock and insole.

As I wrote here >>13697513 I went for the 290mm (EU46) version and there's plenty of space in the front. For comparison, my other shoes range from 45 (leather derbies) to 47.5 (sneakers). Personally I prefer a more relaxed fit in my shoes, but I think the boots in 45 would have been okay as well—just more appropriate for one pair of socks. Measure your feet and choose your size according to varusteleka's guide (even if you are purchasing elsewhere). You can probably get away with going ~5mm lower (e.g your foot is 290 and you buy the 285mm). Simply put it's TTS with room for double thick socks, and you have some versatility as well via insoles.
