What's a cooler weather scent for everyday wear at university, that's a little warm/sweet/spicy but not obnoxiously so like spicememe or 1 million, with good performance? I really like Royal Oud cause it's those things mentioned above but in moderation and balanced out by some fresher elements. I just think it's better for dressier occasions and is also expensive. Was looking at Robert Graham Valor, anyone have experience with that?

>> No.13668916

Can some of you fragrance autists explain how you can even sperg out about perfumes on the net?

You can drool over expensive watches/sports cars/clothes online, because you can actually SEE the fucking product. The entire point of a fragrance is the smell, but you cannot show that over the internet.

Do you constantly go to perfume stores and try all the fucking expensive shit you cannot afford? Do you figure out online what you would like based on vague bullshit terms others say like "musky", "citrus" or "ashen wood"? I really do not understand how being a fragrance enthusiast works.

>Do you figure out online what you would like based on vague bullshit terms others say like "musky", "citrus" or "ashen wood"? I really do not understand how being a fragrance enthusiast works.

i don't blind buy but once you have a general understanding of what terms go with what something smells like, you can get an olfactory idea of what it'll be like

If you didn't shower, or shower thoroughly enough, M04 would probably stay on your skin for several days. You could feasibly spray a sweatshirt with it and use that as your primary daily scent for longer than the sweatshirt would remain comfortably "clean".
I gave 2x 3ml vials to a lady I work with about a month ago. She smells strongly of M04 all day, every day. When I checked in with her this afternoon about how much she had left, she produced an almost full vial and declared she only recently started on this one. Doing the math, she's going through 1ml per ten days and still smelling very noticeable. Celia can be located from ten yards, sight unseen, once you know the scent is radiating from her, from start of the work day until quitting time.

Have you ever smelled Aventus on somebody in public? I have on several occasions, memorably at work, at a party, and while out shopping. My secondhand experiences with Aventus have always had an in your face, cologne guy feel to them, so much so that I'm honestly a bit shy about wearing it these days. The guy at work could be smelled from a hundred feet away and for five minutes after he had walked through an area. It was actually some absurd performance when I think back on it.

The scent itself consists of the most natural juicy orange flesh to ever grace your nose, some fresh aquatics, geranium, and woodiness. It oozes a kind of effortless elegance and class. Though Morillas has admittedly created some classics in his career, look at how much of his catalog is comprised of trendy flankers and product lineup fillers. Pierre Montale looks judiciously reserved by comparison.

Test some stuff, come back here and we're going to help you based on what you already like. In a way I don't feel like putting *that* much effort into finding a fucking fragrance or two. I wouldn't mind blind-buying something that people here generally rate as being good.
I've followed expert advice before (in different regards) and it's generally been positive experiences for me.
What are some actual good fragrances for a guy, mid 20's? Something fresh and clean for office/daytime and something a little warmer for winter/evenings.

La nuit de l'homme frozen cologne and la nuit de l'homme eau électrique for the daytime and la nuit de l'homme for nighttime.

Just gotta get the sprays right - not too many, and not too few. Also find the perfect timings for resprays.

Anyone know if an woodsy and watery scent? Just beginning to stick my big tow into fragrances and those are the scents I enjoy on paper. Also the longer lasting the better.

Also, any good trusted youtubers?

cant think of anything off the top of my head but try fragrantica's search by notes. there's a couple options for water notes, you might also want to try aldehyde or ozonic notes for a similar feel. the most common woodsy notes in perfume are cedar, pine, sandalwood, and in the last decade oud has been popular. vetiver and patchouli are also common in woodsy frags.
