That's hard as everything at that price is as bad. I recommend budgeting and getting an entry level pair from Chippewa or Wolverine. Personally I skipped these brands and set aside the coin for pair of Carminas but that's well beyond what you are looking for. You can find a lot of decent boots on second-hand market at price-point you are looking at.

Recommend finding an aggregat list of finest bootmakers and scrolling through lot and searching through their stocks. Best to shop around. I would do that myself for you but I have appointment and need to run.

The Solovairs I have are basically as you'd expect. Not surplus-strenght but stylish and tough enough to not worry about getting my feet stomped in pits.
