To be honest the 2302 design that minimizes the tuning fork is better, even with the wacky gear design aside. The smaller fork runs at 480hz, the second highest tuning fork watch frequency ever, and so has marginally better accuracy.

The SSB025 has a 6T63 movement, which is the Seiko nomenclature for a VK63 movement used in a Seiko watch. The 6T63/VK63 is a mechaquartz chronograph movement; it uses hammers and heart cams to reset the chrono hands.

The best place to buy vintage Seiko models generally is on Yahoo! Japan Auctions, but you will need to use a proxy bidding service like ZenMarket or Buyee to be able to bid there.

The prices are much better than on eBay, and the selection is better, but you have to deal with google translated Japanese auction descriptions, limited pictures, and zero buyer protection for foreigners (i.e. you).

The watch itself is a 1971 King Seiko 45-7001 that was originally purchased of Yahoo! Japan Auctions by another regular poster here, who sold it to me because it didn't suit his skinny wrists.

The 45xx movement is the best handwinding movement series Seiko designed before the quartz revolution, and is one of the best volume production mechanical movements of the pre-quartz era period.

The downside to these is that they can be a little more prone to long-term wear issues than some other vintage Seiko movement designs produced by the Daini Seikohsa factory and that if you ever need replacement parts you will be stuck buying an expensive donor watch because there was never a cheap model with the 45xx movement you could scavenge parts from today.

In general, you should not even consider buying vintage watches unless you are willing to do the research necessary to become familiar enough with the model you are interested in to be able to independently evaluate the condition, originality, and price of any example you'd consider bidding on or you will be almost certain to get ripped off.
