He's a tall guy (6'1) with a fairly busy lifestyle, it's pretty easy to live off shitty foods yet not gain. He's just staying under his limit unintentionally.

Plus if you look, even though he eats alot of junk food, he still eats fairly small portions of stuff, or gives stuff he doesn't want to his bf/Shane/friend. I'd also wager he probably has some days were he eats alot, and other days he eats Wayyyy lighter.

I used to do this alot in school, eat alot of junk, and maybe one proper meal. Or I'd eat all day (like breakfast lunch, dinner and snacks), then not feel like eating at all the next day. Plus I had dance classes and I'd walk back and forth to school, so that definitely helped. Everyone always told me it was my fast metabolism, but even going back and looking at the calories in what I ate and what I burned, it made sense that I stayed fairly skinny.

Some people are naturally good at monitoring their intake, without even being concious of it.

Don’t go by the scale, you’ll never get a good answer because it depends way too much on your frame size and muscle mass among other things.

Go by the mirror (or camra), do you look boney? Look at your whole body, not just parts. You might have a bit more flesh than you want around your waist, hip, face or whatever part while overall still being very skinny because of how your body deposits fat or just from muscle. Focusing on the whole makes it less likely for you to over diet in an unhealthy way. Also look for signs of malnutrition and stress from dieting like hairy arms, yellow or dry skin, white inner eyelids tired looking face etc.
See how you feel physically and mentally. if you feel weak, tired and normal day things like sitting and walking hurts or is more taxing than normal then you have gone too far and you need to put on some weight.

I can’t tell you what would be a good weight but 45 sounds too low. Good luck though. If you’re scared of getting awkwardly skinny legs you can always lift a bit.

I have a similar forwards protruding ribcage and I've been having some reluctant thoughts about thinspo lately. With miniscule pecs wearing shirts, your proportions look all kinds of fucked up with your bones attempting to poke holes on the fabric of your shirt and whatnot.
