Basically it’s annoying for a long time. I remember thinking my hair was long and looking at those pics and I’m just like shaggy at best. Eventually it will finically hit its final form and you’ll be like, oh, I have long hair now.

Some advice from a care perspective: don’t over poo especially at the ends. Just scrub the shit out of scalp. I would only poo if I had sweat. Otherwise just water. I used hot to help clean it cause it was pretty thick. A lot of people swear by cool water and honestly I get it. Go with what works best for you. Buy a comb. For me, I had curly hair so I got one of those special wide tooth ones for curly hair. Basically, at a certain length all the hair that normally just washes down the drain when it falls out gets stuck. Pulling loose hair out of my head was like a ten min ordeal in the shower till I started combing that shit out regularly. Lastly get trimmed up a bit. It’s true that you can’t grow if you cut, but honestly it’s worth it to get through some awkward mulletiness. I’d just trim up the back only. Keep the rest flowing.

For styling, it’s a tough walk on the line between faggot and “I’m just cool and dealing with this long hair shit”. Like headbands, buffs, and bandanas can be an almost necessary accessory, but it’s easy to look try hard. That’s why I recommend keeping it trimmed in back and just using some product to brush it back if you can. If you’re working out or something wear a buff or hat or whatever who gives a fuck. Just don’t go around trying to be Styles with a “/game/“ bandana because your hair isn’t long yet and it’s not cool

Get a slight trim on top, very slight or don't trim yet and just get a medium fade for the sides only, tell them to keep the top and don't fuck with it.

Second, doing nopoo works pretty well for giving me volume since shampoo just makes my hair go dry like straw. I want to use styling product but usually I have to use shampoo to get it out, which just puts me back to straw hair. What kind of styling material ca I sue that will wash out without shampoo?

I am growing my hair out, but I need to go to the hairdressers as my hair at the back and sides is getting a bit messy, this is my first time going to the hairdresser while growing it out, do I simply say that and they'll just tidy it up at the back and sides, sometimes I go there and they use these blunt scissor type things that seem to just take hair off to reduce the density, not the length, do I need to ask for that or will they do that anyway.

I grew my hair out to around that length and now I can't find out which product to use to make it have the slightly slicked back wet look most famous men with somewhat longer hair have? Bonus point if it doesn't make the hair disgusting to touch, it's horrible to think that any girl touching my hair gets greasy hand, that's disgusting.
Pic is my hair length and it's what I'd like it to look like. My hair tends to be wavey too, so I think it's realistic. It's pretty much like that when it's wet but dries to a very different texture and look.
