Pardon is the safest frag to me out of the Nasomatto line. People like Black Afgano too but i found the Oud note unpleasant to my nose.

If you've smelled L'instant de Guerlain EDP, it shares the same vibe. On my skin it leans quite rich with the cinnamon, chocolate and tonka so gets fatiguing/cloying if in a closed environment.

I know it’s overplayed and a “meme” if we have to use such terms, but I tried it for the first time today and despite my tendency towards contrarianism I really enjoyed it. It was the EDP and although I felt it was a little linear after the first hour (and after it obliterated my nostrils on its opening) it was quite nice, and annoyingly it got me more compliments from colleagues in one day than I’ve had in the last two months from all of my other fragrances combined.

The only thing I seem to like and wear is sandalwood, yet I cant get two products with the same exact fragrance, wouldn't the sandalwood oil smell kinda similar or am I buying thrash products?

Also, how does one find his scent?
Should my scent be pleasing to myself or to others?
Should it match my "natural" smell?

Why am I still getting compliments on swiss army if I happen to put some from that bottle I had for 10 years?
Is it a "good" (I know it won't be by you guy's standard but maybe other things smell similar?) scent?

I've sold mostly designers I dont use and care for anymore. With the bit more expensive stuff I dont feel like selling even though there are some I hardly use. The reason is that the 100€ or whatever increase on my bank account I honestly wouldn't notice it because I don't really spend a lot of money on anything else. While if I sell a bottle I would notice because obviously I can't use it if I ever wanted to. Point is I don't really "need" the money so might as well keep the bottle.
What I have done for the ones I sold and I suggest you to do is keep a 10ml decant for yourself then sell the bottle. You are probably selling the ones you hardly reach out for, so 10ml will last you a long time. The only time I used a spray of one of the decants is when I see someone mentions it so I can refresh my memory.

I generally don’t watch his videos unless I want multiple opinions on something, but I did watch his recent video about how and where to spray and i thought it was decent in terms of how he spoke and general presentation. He’s clearly a confident speaker (in a second language too) to do it unedited without a mistake. It’s a shame because he’s obviously made a lot of mistakes and I feel like he needs to rebrand or risk becoming a joke. If he took a step back and did something nobody else was doing, perhaps videos on the history of fragrances, maybe documentary style videos, which he above all other can afford. Especially if he has the contacts he claims he has.

He’s got potential, but it seems like he reverts back to sleaziness far too quickly.

This fragrance rules all the others. I can't afford this one because wages in my country are nowhere like the western ones but the prices of these frags are exactly like they're in the west.
I have a little 2.5 ml decant of this one and I love to sniff it.
Sometimes twice a day.
And maybe after few years I'll be able to finally buy it by saving for months but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

This is a question to the whole thread in general but how does L'Occitane Eau des Baux compare to Tobacco Vanile in general? Does it have the smokey scent that TV has, or does it just ape the vanilla quite well?

its more vanilla than smoke but a lot more wearable than tv. I got both and while you can wear eau des baux on a normal winter day, tv is overpowering especially indoors.

Someone Like You is just average longevity wise. It lasted through the evening for me but was mostly done by midnight. It turns a bit musty on me by that point. I bought the 30ml and that's probably the right size for this one.

Am I a retard for wanting to do hobbyist perfumery despite being into fragrances for less than a year? There's so damn much I want to try and have a fuller understanding of.
