In terms of the outfits he doesn't do any closeups and actual comparisons of it's different elements. it's all about the state of development a society is in. asians are usually from countries where historically most people worked outside on farms and the rich stayed inside and chilled. it's possible that as asian countries get more industrialized and the working class works primarily then maybe tan skin will lose its stigma. it's not about wanting to be white, it's about wanting to be rich.

also you forget that there's two sides to every coin. pale skin can be beautiful if it's clear and healthy, but redness, acne and sun damage from diet/lifestyle/genetics are more obvious on pale skin than on tan skin. pale skin can look washed out in bright colours whereas tan skin looks weird against pastels.
