I wore Coach for Men. I got the bottle as a gift. It's an ambroxan/pear blend that is very light and inoffensive. Definitely best for work, it doesn't have the performance for casual settings. It's pretty generic, though, and I would recommend pretty much every other ambroxan bomb over it.

Holy shit lads I finally did it. After a couple months of sampling, I finally found a wood frag that is exactly what I wanted: Wonderwood. I tried:

>Encre Noire (all 3 iterations)
Original is good, but more "forest" than "wood." Sport is too sweet, extreme smells like garbage (not "bad," but like that sweet smell you get from a landfill)

>Lalique Equus
Smells a lot like Encre Noire Sport but less moss and more wood. Still too sweet and too much other shit going on besides wood

>Dsquared Rocky Mountain Wood
Very similar to Equus, disliked it for the same reasons

>Bentley Absolute
Pure fucking cedar. Complete opposite of the last few, no sweetness at all and nothing else besides cedar. Smells terrible up close but from far away it's a dead ringer for cedar lumber. I use it as an air freshener in my pickup truck.

>Creed Royal Oud
Nice cedar. Wasn't what I was looking for in a wood frag but I'm glad someone suggested it a few threads ago because it's nice as hell, bought a bottle.

>Dyptique Tam Dao
Ok now we're talking. Nice combination of woods with a little bit of spice. It's about 80% of what I wanted, there's this one note in there I can't put my finger on but it reminds me of the "manly" note in Man in Black (not the same note, but evokes the same feeling).

>CdG Wonderwood
Bingo. Like Tam Dao without that note that was bothering me. I fucking love it. I have 5ml at the moment and will be purchasing a full bottle.

Thanks to all you fuckers who have been talking wood frags with me over the last few threads, it's been a hell of a journey.

Neither is buying her a fragrance she doesn’t like. Think about it. You get her something she doesn’t like, she’s not going to use it, so essentially what you’re doing is buying her nothing. Does that seem romantic to you? “Here’s nothing. Enjoy!”.

If you want romantic, buy her some flowers, or chocolate, or wine, or lingerie or some shit. Fragrance is one of the hardest things to buy for another person. You’re probably not gonna get it right.

Back to Black is sort of a dusty, spicy tobacco with a really nice, sweet honey note, and cherry and raspberry notes. It’s quite complex, a lot of different things going on.

Enigma smells a lot like boozy cola initially, then dries down into this really nice vanilla and jasmine scent. The tobacco is a bit more subtle than other scents, but it’s really nice.

I just wear them when I feel like it. Sometimes I'll wear the same one for a week, sometimes I'll change it up every day. I don't subscribe to the "casual/dressy" aspect of frags. What makes a frag dressy? Because it smells higher-quality than a "casual" frag? I say fuck that, I'm not gonna smell "kind of good" on purpose and "really good" only on fancy occasions. they only thing sssb has in common with viw is that it has lime in it. I don't think they smell anything alike. I prefer viw it doesn't smell as cheap synthetic but sssb isn't too bad for the price. As the other anon suggested gorse supposedly smells like viw never tried though.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Creed Aventus. The scent is extremely complex, and without a solid grasp of perfumery most of the notes will go over a typical smeller's head. There's also Olivier Creed's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into the fragrance - its notes draw heavily from Napoléon Bonaparte’s conquest, for instance. The true fragheads understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this fragrance, to realize that it doesn’t just smell good- it says something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Creed Aventus truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Aventus' top notes "blackcurrant, bergamot, apple and pineapple," which itself is a cryptic reference to Molière's French comédie-ballet Le Bourgeois gentilhomme.

I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Olivier and Erwin Creed's genius wit unfolds itself in their olfactory glands. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Creed Aventus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand

I am thinking of blind-buying this, since it's not too expensive, I'm getting tired of wearing the same fragrance every day (Lanvin Avant Garde) and at the moment I don't have the time or care to look around for different scents/order testing sizes. Thoughts?
