Right boys, I posted on the /wt/ thread last night about vintage omega so can someone help me out determining the age and Prince if I get it cleaned. It's a geneve, hand wound, and the strap is not original. Also general /wt/ thread.

>> No.13533511

Also this is my fathers, I also have an older geneve that is a lot less chunky that belonged to my grandad, also hand wound. I think its the iteration before this one.

not without looking at the watch

go take it to a watchmaker. if it says fastfix or quickfix

they can't do shit for ya

find a real place

you're looking at $300 to get it running again if you lived in california

$350 if you need a new band

since it looks like it's never been polished in its life you can spring for that, and it wont affect value too mcuh, people dont like to polish to the point where the case loses shape,

if you get a new crystal, service andband take it to a watch dealer that sells vintage watches and try to convince them to give you a free polish while "seriously considering" a couple of their other vintage watches for sale

Aye thanks for the help senpai. Im struggling to find out the age as the slopes where the strap is attached are much more pronounced than any iteration I can see online.

Don't you have it fucking polished, O.P. The definition of the case is a large part of its worth.

And again retard OP can't make a proper /wt/. Thanks for moving us to /fa/ mods.

This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.

Lol that's my watch and picture

I was cringe, I wore shit like that watch, Ralph Lauren polos and Levi's vintage selvedge jeans on Allen Edmonds in 2009.

Click clacking down the university hallways.

Now I just wear a fitbit, those soft ass polyester shirts from addidas and Uniqlo pants

It's not hella desirable, also case polishing doesn't remove definition getting it polished every 6 months is

He's got bigger issues than case condition like dial alignment

And the movt might be shot
