Will do! I didn’t use any samples yesterday because I had a meeting at the bank, so I was already wearing fragrance when they arrived. I’ll try at least a couple today.

The Czarnecki line has some interesting frags. I’ve tried Shihan previously which is nice, though I didn’t like it enough to buy it. These two that I ordered have incredibly interesting note breakdowns, though. I mean, Venom of Angel has coconut, white chocolate, pepper, ivy, aloe vera, and a bunch of other stuff. I had to try it.

Plenty of people have never smelled Aventus before, you’ll be unique enough.

This dude again.

Trying Venom of Angel on one hand, Bluebijou on the other.

Venom is interesting. It’s not as sweet as I thought it’d be considering the cane sugar, coconut, and white chocolate notes. It has this sort of generic fresh cologne scent, but then a creamy, almost buttery thing going in the background. I definitely get the Ivy and Aloe as well.

Bluebijou, I get the blueberry and cognac upfront, as well as the violet and some nice dark chocolate. Fairly sweet. Actually reminds me a little bit of Amongst Waves, oddly enough. The combination of the blueberry and the violet smell not unlike the melon note in AW. Very interesting.

I like both. Not sure yet if I like either enough to cop. I’ll see how they develop.

2bh, women's perfumes, I think, are only appropriate for older women, since they may actually enhance the experience of others around them.

For younger women, why would you need to do that unless you had been smoking or something to obviously make you smell bad? Otherwise, women are naturally less odorous than men and you can just lean on your looks for how attractive you are.

It’s sweet, spicy, green, woody, minty, just everything all at once, but in a way that’s perfectly balanced and not overpowering. I’ve never smelled anything else like it.

when i sprayed them they had a somewhat strong scent of alcohol at first. is this normal? or is this a sign that it is no good anymore?

Here it is, the /frag/ field report nobody asked for: Anime Expo Los Angeles 2018

Among those choosing to wear fragrance, this year's male (male) attendees overwhelmingly favor Dior Sauvage. During days one and two, the occasional waft of ambrox-pepper became a predictable and welcome island of relief amidst the prevailing sea of onion scented early-convention body odor. No other male fragrances were noticed or identified among the throng.

As temperatures reach the 105 degree range and persist into the con's later days, we can anticipate the earthy aroma of unwashed cosplay fits, stale sweat, and poor anime fan hygiene. I'm thankful for Sauvage Chad and his fragrance normie brethren on days like these. Will update this report with additional notes should I manage to survive the remaining 48 hours of Anime.

Disclaimer: Visited Paris and did absolutely nothing frag related at the time

I'd visit the museum of fragrance (if you want to get nerdy). I'd do Guerlain for sure. Serge Lutens too. Diptyque if you're into them. If you want to hit a bunch in one and don't have a fetish for a single house or two definitely visit one of the famous department stores (magasins) i.e. Lafayette and/or Bon Marche.

This. I like variety, and I don't know if I feel that a signature would really benefit me since I don't go out with the same people often enough.

I wear fragrances more for me. I think the closest to my signature is dg pour homme. I can bust it out nearly anytime of the year, so it's my usual when I can't figure out what to wear.

Nose for "mass market" niche like Diptyque, CDG, etc. (they had a pretty low price on Aventus).
Sens Unique and Jovoy for real niggas' niche, Liquides Imaginaires is decent as well.
Personally, I can't stand Lafayette, it feels like a center of Beijing, but Printemps is cool, has huge Frederic Malle store + some rare brands like SHL 777.

I wouldn't fuck around with homebrew Iso E Super, but that's just me. I say buy the real Molecule 01, which is made from an exclusive Iso gamma molecule owned by IFF. I feel like it's worth owning for the bottle and as a collectible; the same with Molecule 04. There are very decent prices on Fragrancebuy.

I thought it'd be fun project I found since ISO E Super was available via Etsy but I do need to get a bottle to compare it with so I can get the ratio right. Then start mixing my own with this as a base note. Do you know where I can get some testers or smaller bottles like maybe in the $15-$20 range?

Got a chance to try this finally. Been on the hunt for a mint and orange fix since ultra zest doesn't quite do what I want.

Doesn't get the orange and mint I want, but a really great fragrance regardless. The mint and ivy are the star of this, and as it dries down it gets woodier tones that blend with the mint and ivy. So, you are left with a cool ocean mist breeze. Super refreshing, unlike almost anything I've smelled before. It's so simple, yet so fucking awesome. Performance is bang up too, lasts all day with projection for most of it. Easy to overlook since amouge has so many other highly acclaimed fragrances, but this one is definitely bottle worthy.

Also, what’s the consensus on Prada L’Homme? I want something clean and fresh. I already have Dior Homme if that makes a difference.

I’m new to all this. I get that it’s dependent on the fragrance, but how many times to do you spray? Also, can you spray it on clothes? I normally spray a couple of times on my neck and maybe once on my chest depending on what I’m wearing.

Me here again, being a complete scrub to fragrances i'll post the rest of what I've tested

>Tom Ford tobacco vanille

really disliked this one, can see how people can appreciate a scent like this, but seems way to polarizing for my goal of just "smelling nice"

>creed royal water

Nice smell, decent longetivity, seems more summery than neutral though

>creed irish tweed

Again no real complains, seems like a very neutral "nice smell"

>creed aventus

I can see why this gets so much love/hate, it's a very pleasant scent, I imagine among the "fragrance community" it's hated because it's popular, but in terms of all males(and even all males who wear aftershave) it's still quite rare

Any ideas on where to go next?

You picked some expensive fragrances for a first time. Maybe check out a bunch of designers, those are made to be "nice" and mass pleasing although I'd also place Creed in there.
For designer I like the dior homme line. Adg profumo is nice. Niche versatile my favourite is probably Reflection by Amouage. Lately I've tried a whole bunch of MFKs, I liked lumiere noire, the rest of the fresh fragrances I didn't like too much but they are also kind of mass pleasing maybe it's worth checking out. The heavier stuff isn't really for all year round.

l'homme de coeur by divine might be a good choice if you dont mind something that's more subtle. it's an elegant and discreet perfume that can be worn for any occasion, year-round.

it's impressive how balanced it is because it doesnt lose its uniqueness despite being generally pleasing and versatile. from 3 sprays the projection is arm-lenght and longevity around 10 hours on my skin.
