Post the most ridiculous “costume” pieces you wouldn’t have the balls to wear outside but secretly want to.

>> No.13477571

The term 'otter' spawned from the queer community to describe a male with a swimmers body that is hairy. Similar to a twink, which is a typically skinny predominantly hairy gay male.

You guys are awesome, but there are a few clarifications that must be made.

>>13477521
You are correct about this, but to be clear, ottermode works for ANY jacket. Long coats tend to be more forgiving to people such as myself who have more muscular cores (mine comes from the work I do), and there's not much you can do to change your figure other than do exercises to broaden the shoulders to make the core look less obvious. Clothes always look good on someone who takes their proportions into account...the rule is to always build from the body you have, or change your body into the body you want, and then build around it...never do the opposite (apply the finished aesthetic to the unfinished body).

Assuming you're two different Anons, no, that's not me. That's a guy who posted on Youtube about his cosplay Dante coat. I actually watched his video about a week or so when I was waiting (rather impatiently) for my jacket and needed some 'enthusiasm'. But his is from a different company (you can tell that easily by the colour and drape, as well as the clear use of fake leather). I don't want to say his jacket looks terrible in terms of construction and material quality....but at the same time I can't find words of praise for it.

>>13478185
I'd hope not. As for the guy on Youtube, I think he broadcasts who he is anyway. I have no problem with his enthusiasm...it's just a shame the version he purchased is a little...rough?

Also, the most important perhaps. While I'm genuinely flattered, I do want to ask you something.

Why wouldn't you have 'the balls' to wear this outside? Not the pic you posted, obviously, but a good version?

Also, for what it's worth, last night proved to me yet another thing about people...they never do what you expect. I expected the usual ribbing from my friends about 'Anon got yet another leather jacket...what is this, no. 99?'...but in truth only one person even commented about it, and she only asked me because she was wondering if they made a female version. Also, given that her rain jacket was looking pretty fucking ragged (fake leather really doesn't work well with lots of rain after a year or two), my instinct told me that she was asking me not because mine was cool but because she was looking for something new and had never seen anything like this before.

The pub was dark, everyone was a little wet, so the red details of the coat didn't really pop much. Also, lots of important things had happened this past week, so no one wanted to talk about clothing. Anyway, the point is that the 'reception' of the coat was even less eventful than I would have predicted given how well I know these people.

It's surprisingly not a problem wearing something like this if you're with people who are normal....I know it can seem like it takes courage, or foolishness...but really, if you're a society that is open, then no one cares.

Just make sure whatever you do wear is really an extension of yourself....if you're extroverted like me, always talking to people or trying to make them laugh, then a jacket like this is no big deal. It's only if you tend to sit in a corner staring a people in a 'creepy' way that a jacket like this may serve to make things look worse for you, not better.

Just a few thoughts from your friendly neighborhood Dante-Anon.

Enthusiasm? But anon where's your motivation?

>> No.13478521

Why did the last thread get pruned?

>> No.13478523

>>13478511
You misunderstand. My enthusiasm was through the roof, but sometimes when you're waiting for something, you want to hear other people being enthusiastic about what you'll be getting. You know, like how people who buy a watch will read reviews of the same watch as theirs is on its way in the post...it makes you feel good...or it can make you feel horrible (if the reviews actually point to the opposite expectation of high quality).

>>13478521
I have no idea....it got pruned, and then it wasn't archived. Anyway, I created a new thread, so I'll stop posting here about this jacket because I don't want to hijack it. This thread here should be about leather jackets in general...that's the point. So, if you guys have any other questions, come over to the 'Soul Revolver DMC5 Coat' thread. Many thanks.

It isn't the Matrix, but a coat not worn is a waste of money and space. Donate it to goodwill, or perhaps experiment with what you can wear with it that doesn't immediately say 'Matrix/Shooter-core'. Even a collared shirt + tie in normal colours can offset the shooter association.

What colour is it Anon? (I assume it's black?)

>>13479205
I did, at least for discussion of all things Dante. But I will not kill myself my man...that would be a severe waste of resources...

Yeah, black.
I very nearly put it up on eBay, but decided at the last minute that I like it too much. I only wear it once or twice a year to places like old-school EBM concerts.
Maybe I should just give up and buy some sandals and cargo shorts.

Well...to be honest, the issue is a simple one to me. If it fits you like a glove, keep it and experiment with different aesthetics to make it work. But if it's a little more generic, with a generous fit that is similar to the shooter core of the 90's (where everything was oversized), then maybe you should either sell it or trade it for one that fits you better.

Sandals and cargo shorts are fine if it's hot outside man...but if you don't get much rain, then a trenchcoat is honestly quite useless....
