actual farmer here. most actual farmers/ranchers usually just sport t shirts and ball caps where I'm from. And as others have mentioned, if you sport a cowboy hat and boots you'll just look like you're cosplaying or something like that. If you want to get into westernwear/ workwear I would start at LC King mfg. for their chore coats, just wranglers or levis for jeans. Another good option is to check out your local saddlery store because 1- they sell western wear 2- because they are in business in your area it means they sell stuff people in your area actually wear so you won't stick out like a sore thumb. Just my 2 cents

If its wranglers, just get new ones. Vintage are made in the USA, but the style is still so similar that unless you get ones from the 1940s or early 50s, there's no real difference. For wranglers, go for either their slim 093 or the regular 13mwz. Just wash them once or twice if you want to get them tailored: they shrink in the length. Wrangler now makes taper jeans but I don't have any experience with that cut.

If you want 501, go vintage. Levi's quality control has go to shit, so the old made in the USA jeans will be better.
