Try it at a sephora if you can, but it really grew on me the last time I tried it. It starts off with a sharp citrus that's pretty different since I guess it's Yuzu, but as it dries down a lot of the other notes come out and you get some floral and woods on my skin.

However, when I first tried it a long time ago, it was the sharpest most nauseating citrus ever. It seems both cases are common with issey, but I think it's a good choice for the price.

but I'll give you a quick place to start since it can be daunting. I think the best fragranes to try at sephora for the current season are:
YSL L'Homme Ultime
Chanel Eau Extreme
Platinum Egoiste
AdG Profumo (I own it, not sure I care for it but it's alright)
Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey
Terre d'Hermes
Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche
Bleu De Chanel (EdP and EdT)
Gucci Pour Homme II

Imo, those are some of the best scents to try from Sephora. Most have good longevity.

>>13458262
No experience with either, but here's generally how seasons and frags work: Some notes can be heavy and cloying in high heat, and others can just be weird as fuck in the cold. You wouldn't expect to smell a green, citrusy field in the winter when it's cold. Conversely, if you came in wearing a smoky, leathery, or chocolatey thing where I live in 95 F weather, I'd probably vomit. It's not always the case, but just thinking of one of my favorites in the summer (Encre Noire Extreme) is making me sweat already. d'Hadrien is a warm weather frag for sure, since it has a lot of light citruses mixed with cypress. The bulgari is also a warm weather frag since it leans citrusy , but I bet you could get away with this almost year round looking at the note breakdown. (Actually I wanna try this sometime) Anyways, based on what you've tried I think what I posted are all pretty good. Definitely look into Terre d'Hermes. It's excellent and can be worn almost year round.

Encre Noire Sport (2013) - $25-$30 / 100 ml
Citrus, cypress, and vetiver with aquatic notes. Good longevity.

Guerlain Vetiver (2000) - $25-$30 / 100 ml
Earthy woods and tobacco; a classic for all seasons and all ages.

Calvin Klein CK One Shock - $18 / 100 ml
Energy drink with swisher cigar accord, 6-7 hour performance, good for fall through early spring

Bentley for men Azure - $30-$35 / 100 ml
A modern summertime ambrox-aquatic with strong performance. Not a Sauvage-like.

Bentley for men Absolute - $35-$40 / 100 ml
Dry incensed resins and wood. I prefer it to CDG 2 Man, which is similar and about 3x the price.

Charriol Royal Gold - $37 / 100 ml @fragrancenet
Tom Ford Black Orchid at 1/3 price and 5/4 potency.

Azzaro Wanted - $35 / 100 ml
Along with CK One Shock, this is your best value club scent / youthful date fragrance in 2018. All of the thot slayer notes are present and accounted for - tonka, apple, amberwood, and cardamom - over a traditional masculine base of lavender-geranium-vetiver. Projects and lasts.

Benneton United Dreams Aim High - $14 / 100 ml @fragrancenet
A solid value version of Bleu de Chanel EdT. Not nearly as refined as Bleu, but still enjoyable in warm weather and long lasting. Produced by Puig in Spain.

>>13459393 is correct in recommending Bvlgari. All of the Aqva series are around $35 / 100 ml and all are great for spring through fall. Aqva Amara can be used as a winter aquatic with its bitter orange and cedar base. Aqva Atlantiqve is my only recommended Sauvage-like and gets me many compliments.

If you're in Europe and can order from Notino, consider Rasasi Egra, a great affordable clone of Creed Green Irish Tweed. Americans no longer have cheap access to Rasasi since Notino closed up shop here and eBay sellers have dialed up pricing on Egra to around $40 / 100 ml delivered. I think $25 is a fair price, but paid $16 in 2016.

Bought this for 5$ from a local perfumery in India.
This is lavender based oil and projects very nice and pleasant for 3-4 hrs and lasts as long as 8-10 hours on my skin. I got 2 compliments and I really enjoyed it.

The old timer at the shop has a brilliant nose and tells me he can make very similar frags to the ones I showed him (Oud wood).
I was thinking why should I waste my money on stupid ((niche)) and ((designer)) Fragrances when I can get similar stuff at literal cheap AF prices.

never tried valentino. wonderwood and cdg in general is expensive because of supply and demand. cdg's fragrances are relatively unique in composition and thus command a higher retail. cdg is also a bit off the mainstream palette enough it doesnt get cloned, i cant even think of a clone of their best seller cdg 2 man. aventus on the other hand is an example of a frag that was unique on release 8 years ago but a number of clones have sprung in the wake of its popularity.

by the way always look at the note listing for fragrances you like. if you cant find anything on the official website or packaging try fragrantica and basenotes. you can search by note in those places as well.

If Cheetah is meant to be a Jubilation clone, it is a bad one. The Rasasi smells similar for a second when switching back and forth, but it immediately feels hollow, lacking any identifiable myrrh, oud, or blackberry for example. All three of these come leaping out at me on the Jubilation card, but Cheetah is dominated by a single sheer sweet-spicy accord with zero nuance. It's actually giving me a headache as I sniff it. I remember it being uncomfortable to wear. Not recommended, from a Rasasi fan.

>it smells like cracking open a real orange amd the oils hit your face.
I love that kind of stuff. After so much time wearing TdH I still marvel at how "natural" it feels. And JCE says he doesn't really care about natural but rather he wants fantasy in his perfumes. No idea what makes it feel that way, I haven't tested a million perfumes like some other anons in hhere but the few YSL, Dior, Chanel, etc I've smelled, while some good some great, they don't give me that vibe.
I remember reading in that one Luca Turin book saying Hermes and Cartier use higher concentrations of expensive components on their products, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Sadly other Hermes perfumes have very short longevity.

Same guy as above. My decant of Scent of Peace for Him came in. I like it but don’t love it. Still would have been happy for a blind buy though.

What I’m asking for is if there is anything like these notes but less Ambroxan and a bit less Cedar with more Fruity notes. I really love the opening for this but the Ambroxan in the dry down is just too heavy. Less Ambroxan and a bit less Woody notes.

What do you /fa/gs recommend?
