My old watch just died, ao I need a new field watch. Any suggestions?

Looking for a piece that tells time, and perhaps what day of the month it is.
Needs to be near water proof and durable.

Pic related, its the look that I’m going for, but iut of my current budget.

1955 Pobeda in the middle of some minor restoration. Needs a careful clean around the hands but the dial is nearly as good as it'll get. The black spots are where the lacquer has been holed so no luck removing those. Through some miracle I've managed to get my hands on an original waterproof Chistopol crown and the right crystal but they're with customs right now.

A watch similar (the same hermetic case and movement but without outlined hour indices) to this one was smuggled onto Sputnik-4 mission 1961, 'worn' by Chernushka the dog. Both dog and watch returned safely.

Its circa 10k bc of condition and stuff when I pulled the trigger. Also it's not normal bc it just says "swiss" under where most say "Swiss made" or even Swiss tv-25" or somethinf like that in the case where the switched to the luminescent stuff for the hour markers that's shelf life is 25 years. Either way yeah it's a bit flashy but to compare the sub my Dad owns is solid gold. He never wears that except to ultra formal events. Where as this is my daily when I'm not at work.

Speaking of, I'm a military member who oddly enough is on the exit after 5 years in August. Some people might ask how I paid for it all, but in short I'll say that if your only source of income is your wage/salary job then you're doing yourself a large disservice.

The service for the watch is 600 dollars for perspective, and a few years ago I broke the watches bezel spring skiing, this allowed the bezel to rotate in both directions. The dumb spring in there brought that service up to 1250!

Any more questions? I'll be glad to answer anything!

This is a really interesting article that I haven't even had the chance to finish yet, but which is already fascinating to those interested in the technical aspects of mechanical movements:

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/original-iwc-doppelchronograph-caliber-79230

It covers the development of the first cam actuated split second chronograph movement and how it differs from traditional column wheel split second approaches.

Are Junkers watches any good? I like the fact that it's the same company that made airplanes in WW2. I only have a seiko skx and a shitty casio which are both more utilitarian. I'm thinking about getting pic related as a 'dressy' watch.

If you want a dressier watch in bauhaus style i'd recommend scouring local flea markets and Craigslist /ebay/crono24 for a Certina/Omega/Eterna of that period. They're usually fairly cheap and good quality stuff. Especially Eterna has beautiful movements with great accuracy.
