In the mid 2000s when Panerai got trendy and was shilled by Schwarzenegger and Stallone. That normalized 44+mm watches even on normal sized people. Enter the Hublot Big Bang, AP RO Offshore trying to capitalize on the success. Then enter Rolex increasing the size of their watches.

The trend is ending though and there’s a movement back towards normal sized watches for the most part by higher end manufacturers.

just copped black dial with roman numerals and stick indices very very clean and pretty. Hand-winding in house automatic movement, the crystal domes beautifully. Looks decently mid sized on the wrist but still a bit bigger than most dress watches. also the strap makes thw bambino look like its floating on the wrist, and replacements for 21mm are not found in retail stores so online only but i'd just got with a nice leather nato or high high quality zulu straps (what im looking for now). All in all love the watch but maybe buy 1 first, if youre in australia then downunderwatches is doing a really good deal on them and they use dhl so my package got processed over the weekend from singapore. bought it Friday picked it up monday.

Yes it is a weird design quirk of Nomos to have those oversized lugs. Looks worse on some watches than others IMO. For me, the long lugs make the club unwearable. On this watch it’s fine. It’s only 37.5 mm case so even on my smallish wrist they’re not even close to hanging over. However on some of their watches - like the 40mm or bigger - the lugs make them very difficult to wear unless you have gorilla arms. I think 35-39 is the sweet spot for Nomos. I went with the 38 over the 35 solely because I wanted the upgraded movement with the in-house escapement.

Stunningly opulent like most high end Langes. Love the textured dial. The movement is even more attractive than the dial, which is really saying something when you're looking at a Lange tourbillon.
>>13419062
I'm not sure what you're saying, exactly. The Lange you're replying to is not an open heart, it's a tourbillon with two fairly unique complications placed into a 39.5mm case. That is a stupefying amount of complexity in a very thin case (11mm). Regardless of how you feel about the aesthetics of the watch, Lange should be praised for their continued obsession with innovation for the sake of innovation and absurd level of hand finishing on their watches.
>>13419130
You can buy them in bulk off Amazon for very cheap. One spring bar is as good as another for 99% of watches, with Rolex being one exception. I'm sure there are others but unless you are wearing a very expensive watch, I'd recommend buying in bulk online lest you pay $10+ per set of spring bars which is highway robbery.

Because the threads on /g/ are always full of complete retards posting non-stop daniel wellington shitters. after a certain time the lubricating oil in the watch will naturally evaporate (takes years but does happen) and needs to be replaced otherwise the watch will run terribly and risk damage. Servicing requires dismantling, cleaning all the parts, etc. This is more expensive for one like yours because it's a chronograph (it has a timing function, which is those two small dials there and also the second hand) which means it's more complicated. Just servicing the watch shouldn't be too expensive usually around ~£60 to get done, which is nothing compared to the actual value of the watch) but if anything needs to be replaced it could get expensive because parts are hard to find etc

Depends on what you value in a sports watch. To me, the most desirable sports watch ever is the Royal Oak 15202 (extra thin jumbo). Obviously though that fulfills a very different role than something like a Submariner or Speedmaster. For every day use I’d begrudgingly say the Submariner is the best ever, though it’s not something I want. The Speedmaster is up there as well, but if we’re being totally honest the chronograph is a useless complication 99.99% of the time and sports watches were originally tool watches.
