No I tried these on recently and something is horribly wrong. The tongue's leather is ridiculously thin actually paper thin and I assume this is for comfort and break in. The finish on the whole thing was off too, with a lot "bleeding" on the brown. They are also unpadded and you will feel every step.

NO NO NO. Corcoran boots are shit. I got a pair and like other anon said, the tongue is like 1ply toilet paper, and the eyelets were poorly set leaving sharp tabs of metal poking into the boot. McRae makes good military boots - they make an all leather jungle boot, which is a bit more of a Cold War style, but it might be your speed.
