Where do you guys buy your fragrances. I've ordered about five times from Fragrancenet.com and I've had nothing but good experiences. No fakes either. I don't ever buy retail. I just go to department stores to see what I like so I can get it online.

How is La Yuqawam compared to TL?
I'd like a strong yet sweet leather scent for winter but TL is kind of pricey

Vintage Fierce is god tier. A lot of the top notes are faded so it's just creamy iso-e super and fougere for hours and hours.

LY is superior to TL. It's almost exactly the same, with only minor differences in the ratio of raspberry to saffron to suede. Performance is as good as (better than, really) any sane person needs and easily on par with TF.

Rasasi are far and away the most reliable Arabic perfume house. I own about ten of their fragrances and nearly every single one is a winner.

any other anons feel the dilemma in their collecting of having to choose between (1) buying more bottles of frags they already own/have owned and love and (2) finding and buying new frags to love? like, right now i own a nearly full bottle of Gucci PH2 and I adore it and I want to get a backup bottle of it cause it's discontinued and prices haven't yet skyrocketed. I think if it's something you really like and would like to wear into the future, get a second bottle of it first. Difficult because Hedi didn't release any at Saint Laurent. He has mentioned he likes classic scents that are modernized a bit. I would recommend trying all the scents he released at Dior Homme (Cologne Blanche, Bois d'Argent, Eau Noire, Dior Homme, Dior Homme Cologne, Fahrenheit 32). With that said, I feel like those scents definitely feel more for a more formal/dressed up look. Out of the list, Fahrenheit 32 would fit the best to the image.

Another type of fragrance that might match the image with be fragrances that are Ambroxan bombs (Dior Sauvage...but not sure how Hedi approved that is).

If you take a look at Hedi's own fashion diary, I would say his Dior Homme scents would match those looks more.

Sorry Creed haters. I have a pretty vast collection, and I keep going back to Creed. Aventus is my dumb reach every time. I have actively tried to find something that smelled better with no avail. Millesime Imperial gets thrown in during warmer months. VIW is my vacation scent. GIT gets me going every now and then. Viking has proven itself to be a damn good cooler weather frag, and the list goes on and on. I don't give a shit if Creed is lying about their history. They make damn good frags. So hate if you want, I AM A CREED FAN BOY! I will not apologize for loving this house. They produce quality, great smelling, frags.

For like the first hour aqva amara is a bit much, but it gets a lot better the longer it's on your skin. I've had people tell me it smells harsh and not nice shortly after I applied it, and then a few hours later those same people ask me if I'm still wearing the same frag cause it smells really good. Vetiver is a nice, earthy classic mixed with tobacco, little bit of berg, and to my nose i get some woods. It changes a lot throughout the day. I prefer the extreme flanker, but the original is pretty nice.

Habit Rogue is one of these scents I WANT to like, but to me it just smells like dust. It has such a good note breakdown too. Apparently, it's similar to class french perfumery. It's not a safe blind buy imo, but I think it's worth sampling as so many people like it.

How many Sephora sample vial sprays equal a normal spray for something like l'homme? These don't seem like full sprays, maybe half. Hard to judge performance if I don't know how much I put on.

I'd advise against this. Especially if you're new you should just go to Sephora and spray the popular ones and get one of those. Ask one of the girls there to help. You can get free samples from there as well plus they will help you find which fragrances suit your style

My #1 tip for you all is spray more than you think you should

I never got compliments and all my frags died in less than 4 hours because I only did 2 sprays. I've upped to 6 for most frags (4 for very heavy ones) and I've gotten much more positive feedback and every fragrance has lasted at least twice as long.

How do we know what’s going to trigger your asthma or not? Basically all commercially made fragrances contain alcohol. We really have no idea which particular compounds cause your symptoms, it could be anything. There’s really no way we can tell you what will and won’t adversely affect you.

I think the problem in this case lies less with the amount of sprays as compared to the type of fragrance you choose for the office. If you wear something like Versace Pour Homme it really won't push out no matter how many sprays you do, but doing more sprays will still help with longevity quite a bit. On the other hand, even two sprays of something like DHI would be totally inappropriate for the workplace.

Now in the 2000's some designers (Fendi, Gaultier, Valentino) offered a limited alcohol free range of their EDTs. Most were meant for women, were heavily overpriced and are now discontinued, but they might be available NOS. You can search on ebay for "alcohol free" among fragrances and set up an alarm if something new comes up. Because all fragrances are cheap, in the west you get fuking super inflated prices. Remember that before the 2000 there was almost no niche market, or there was very small compared to today. Fragrances from dior and chanel(what we call now the designer line) used to be considered the best fragrances in the world and had the best ingredients you could buy. But the snobery in westerners won, and everyone started making they private line or exclusive line to compete with the niche world that was blooming. Remeber that besides creed, serge lutens, l'artisan and dyptique, most niche houses never existed 10-15 years ago. You should probably know that the niche houses use the same synthetics and are of no higher quality than your average blue de chanel. How do they exist then? Many reasons: snobiness of westerners, fact that people want diversity now, also they are kept alive because we have created in the west a super class of rich people and the divide betwen the rich and poor in western countries is soo big that you need to go back to ancient Egypt to find the same level of disparity.
