How do I find a good hairstyle? Would a more expensive hairdresser be able to recommend a style for me? How much should I expect to pay for someone like that? I've basically been going to Supercuts my whole life.

just lurk the hair general threads. if you are wondering about prices just look up salons in your area, theyll have prices for their different services

Going to a higher end salon(I’m the forty to sixty range) you’ll likely have some luck but maybe not. I grew my hair out for six years before tearing it off because it looked greasy and shite, I just went to a few different places and tried to get some help. But chances are very high they’ll pull up either a style catalogue or Pinterest and try to find a hairstyle that you like, and from there they’ll try to tailor it to your face shape.

If youre a man go to a barber instead of hairstylist, faggot

>> No.13366011

lol literally just ask them what kind of cut/style would look good with your head shape. they will tell you. dont tell them a cut then ask. ask before you mention any kind of cut. bad haircuts are typically indicative of idiots who dont know what looks good with their headshape.

Boy do I have a fucking story.
>go to one of the local small barbers in town cause I'm tired of spending $20 on haricuts
>walk in, little old man giving another guy a hair cut
>alright cool
>my turn comes up
>sit in the chair, tell him what I want
>this dude
>this fucking dude
>he only uses unguarded clippers the entire time, never touched the scissors
>the news was on and some there was some bullshit about trump
>he starts going off about how Obama tried to destroy this country by leading us away from god and the letting in the devil
>mfw
>starts ranting about religion
>this guy is already half way fucking deep into my hair so I just decide to smile and nod and get it over with
>he finishes
>didn't even give me what i wanted
>just pay and leave to get the fuck out of there
Never went back

Why the fuck would you go to a barber. A barber is for people who want a buzzcut or a crew cut or any other shitty hairstyle involving clippers.

I went once to one of the best hairstylists in my city and I paid like twice the price I was used to pay for a haircut, we sat for about 10-15 minutes just talking how I want my hair done, I showed her pictures and she actually did a good job getting me a haircut I want, but with some changes to it to suit me better.
I'd say it's worth to go once and then just look for someone who can simply keep that hairstyle in check.

Just go to an expensive place once, find someone who looks like they know what they’re doing. Tell them you don’t know what you want and ask for some suggestions then go from there. It’s their job to give you something that looks good on you and that you like. It’s not weird to ask questions.
