I'm 19 but all of the men I look up to for /fa/ are in their late 30s and whenever I wear or style something that they do (like hairstyles) I always feel like I look too young and stupid, how do I take inspo from these guys without looking like I'm trying too hard to appear 10 years older?
t. 6ft tall and relatively lean

By developing your own style and fashion instead of taking inspiration and advice from autistic losers on a cupon discount trading image board.

I don't want to copy exact looks from anyone, I just like the way they look and try to get something I like that's close to it. I'm scared of making bad decisions with the way I dress because I went through an emo phase in the beginning of highschool and I never want to replicate that kind of disaster again

You don't.

I'm mid 30s and I can tell you from my experience that only in the recent years I developed a 'finalized' style that I can confidently say is my own, which reflects my persona without trying to play a role.

When I was young, I was like you, or even worse. I looked like a huge dork with my shitty haircut, twig legs and silly attempts of growing a chin beard. It's normal to look up to people you idolize. You need time to develop and harden your own character. It will all come in time, trust me. You need to grow, experiment, make mistakes, learn from them.

Also, on a sidenote while looking at your pic, I personally think it's never a good idea to aspire to mimic the looks of movie characters or celebrities. These people live in a different world than ours. Stay real. Stay true to yourself. Everything else will come eventually. In the meantime eat healthy, exercise regularly and work towards becoming a decent person.

Then just start by wearing what you feel comfortable with. Is as simple as that.

Thanks, I really like the look of jeans and a shirt but I only got out of high school a year ago in a country where we had to wear shirts in school and I feel like that has affected how I feel wearing shirts casually
does pic related look goofy for a day-to-day outfit?

Maybe change the T-shirt for a comfy V-neck or just a plain white tee. Everything else looks good and the jacket adds a nice preppy touch.

you take inspiration by those older people and as you grow you develop and if you do it right you are satisfied with yourself and even then you take inspo from people that are older then yourself. just go with the flow man your 19

looks off only because the bombr jacket doesnt fit the feel of the shirt, one's coming off too formal and the other too casual, you need to balance things out
