Not as popular as I would have guessed. My thought is that yes, they may be bought a lot, but perhaps a lot of regular people on the street are just buying them at Foot Locker, for a pair of "running shoes," and not even knowing the name of the model.

They have a surprising consistency. They must be more popular than I thought.

Now, what I thought was interesting is how most of the sneakers posted have been more-or-less stagnant over the past year.

yeah they're one of the most common sneakers I see in New York, that doesn't surprise me.

I want a pair but I feel like they're too common now. And what I want to know is if you're supposed to wear them with slim pants or baggy pants, or something in between. They have thin uppers but chunky midsoles so it's hard for me to tell.

Huraches have been popular among Nike heads for years. I actually copped my girl a pair today lol.

>>13339777
Personally, I find them to be a feminine shoe, better suited for women. I've owned a few pairs over the years but it's never been a staple in my closet. I think on guys they only work with shorts or sweats. Keep it strictly leisurely and athletic. For women, best with spandex (athletic look) or looser fitting pants with pinrolled or elastic ankles (casual look).

>>13339781
No doubt. Nobody gave a fuck about the 98 until recently. I've always preferred them to 97s, but colorways have been trash. The grey/orange is the best colorways in recent years.

97's are the go-to "trendy" normie shoe in my country atm. First the #streetwear/instagram fags started to bring them back over here, after that the jd sports and footlocker started to stock these all the time and now every normie teen wears these (or a variation of the 90's air runner)

Maybe. There was a lot of advertising in mid 2017. It seemed to generate a bump, but some labeled it as a failure:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-11-21/nike-s-cortez-sneakers-and-its-failed-run-at-old-adidas-cool

Who knows, though. The seed could already have been planted. It is only the beginning of spring, after all, and we have yet to see what trends will actually hit the streets in the summer.

Personally, I like the Cortez, and wouldn't mind getting a pair myself. Either black-and-white or all-white, though - not a big fan of the Forrest Gump colorway.
