Just got my bottle of Tempo.

It’s good. It’s really good. It is an unapologetic patchouli scent, so obviously you have to like patchouli. It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be, probably would work for summer, but it’s got that nice, earthy patchouli with a little spiciness. Has a bit of a hippie vibe to it, but not in that gross, dirty hippie way, more in the abstract. It smells like the 60’s in the best way possible.

Can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a good patchouli scent.

Not overly thrilled with Tempo at this point, mostly because it's so restrained. I'm a Patchouli monster and love how powerfully most patch dominant perfumes project. Tempo isn't weak, but it is shy. Afraid to offend others, perhaps. The only patch I'll wear to work.

Well, you probably have some preferences (floral, citrus, fruity, woody, etc.)
I would recommend you to try Hermes products (Jardin Sur le Nil, Eau des Merveilles for example), good quality for reasonable price + availability. And after you may buy something you like cheaper online.
Cartier also has nice unisex line (Eau de Cartier + flankers) and very cheap, good for the summer imo, but longevity is moderate.
Mancera/Montale discussed above are not that pricey, but have superior longevity. Personally, I really like Full Jasmine of Montale.
Anyway, go to some store nearby and test few.
Just avoid heavy rose, gourmand, oud and boozy frags.

As noted by others, Montale and Mancera can almost be considered one line. I own 5 Montales and 9 Manceras. The house specialty is Oriental fragrances, particularly Ouds, most of which are fantastic. But when they stray into other categories the results are a mixed bag.

Patchouli Leaves and Attar are two of my favorite Montales. Of the Manceras, I enjoy Cedrat Boise and Gold Intensitive Aoud best.

You can always count on strong performance from M/M perfumes. They absolutely destroy department store designer fragrances, often lasting through showers and for weeks on clothing and bedding.

tuscan leather smells like the idea of being sleazy

>> No.13332475

I decided to try D&G The One. It's a safe, boring scent. I guess I see why its reccomended so often for dates; Its generally inoffensive. I'm just not crazy about it.

la yuqawam it's more sleazecore than tuscan leather because it's harsher and more dirty than tom ford.

that doesnt necessarily make it an inferior product. i really enjoy the less happier and unsophisticated side of la yuqawam

Depends on the specific scent. Tuscan Leather has a near perfect clone in La Yuqawam Homme for a quarter of the cost.

I have it and it smells gorgeous but I don’t know if I would buy it at full price. Also it seems like it would only be appropriate to wear it November - early February because the smell sort of works in cold weather.

Personally, I think Kilian’s Back to Black is completely superior to TV, and they’re relatively comparable in price.

Thoughts on this ? Tried it at sephora and enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. I'm looking for a woody pereferably sandalwood casual scent I can wear to work/school and this seems like the best option. I'm this close to pulling the trigger and buying it.

Man 2 I enjoyed as well but seemed slightly harder to wear.

Idk about man 2, I haven’t tried that yet but you might as well try cdg black as well, those three seem to be the most talked about, although it might not be what you want

Thanks. I just went ahead and ordered a sample of wonderwood, tam dao and le labo patchouli 24

I've heard patchouli 24 is like a smokier bvlgari black which I love.

as far as price range and wearabilty i'm probably getting a full bottle of wonderwood

I live in South Korea so I've no chance of getting one shipped from England, I wouldn't even risk getting a fragrance from outside of a department store here either desu

10 Corso Como have it for like £180, might just have to bite the bullet. the test spray lasted all day and it'll take me years to use the bottle anyway

I have found my ultimate fragrance collection and I don't think that I'll find any fragrance available that will replace any of these since I smelled hundreds of frags. Think I got what I wanted out of this hobby, at least untill other things come out

For hot weather I go for iris:
creed green irish tweed
dior homme
armani figueier eden

And incense for cold weather:
serge lutens fille en aiguille
comme des garcons 2 man
parfums de marly herod
