For me personally, wearing boots/hightops and tucking your pants is an intregral part of the look I am trying to achieve. Cargopants with bulging pockets tapering down until they hug your calves and ankles tugged into some slim boots like the bundeswehr pilotenstiefel is the epitome of a lowerbody silhouette to me. It provides a nice transition from loose tops and fits both with slim as well as bulky boots and is a good way to draw attention to your footwear as it exposes all of the shoes. That said, I am sure that you can do a fit that fits into this look without tucking your pants.

Overall I like the look you're talking about, I have a few pairs of cargos from tech fits that have a really tight taper due to my skinny ankles. I don't have any this skinny at the bottom in lunar colours though, only black. I do have an olive pair of Chinese sweg pants coming though.

I've actually been getting real into the alien: covenant branch of space attire. Digging the future mil/tech hybrids, getting a lot more into subdued earth tones, dark browns and drab greens, with some navy, grays, and occasional white/brighter colors. Hiking brands are awesome for this, Kuhl is one of my favorites by far. Lowa boots like the zephyr and innox are perfect, REI has some decent in house stuff, triple aught design and arcteryx are good high end brands. I think a big part of the appeal for me is the aesthetic of excessive functionality, I want to wear clothes that can survive genuine adventures, whether /out/ or urbexing, and not just look like the tool who drives a subaru covered in national park stickers and never shuts up about yoga and his latest mountain biking trip.

Covenant is actually really enjoyable imo, just watched it again recently. I don't know why the alien prequels are getting so much flak, I think they're a neat direction to take the franchise. Yeah I guess they get a little heavy handed with metaphors and symbolism and shit, and maybe it's taking itself too seriously compared to the original, but I like it nonetheless.
