Most countries have their own trad wear which they adhere to more strictly than the deliberately "college playful" style of US prep. Very many differences between individual countries in terms of what formalwear is worn when, what countrywear looks like and where/when you can wear that etc.

I like PFG shorts in khaki and olive for casual shit. Earth tones are better than pastels and look more timeless and understated. However, the style is much more "latin" than anglo-saxon prep: bolder colors, spread collars, foulard ties rather than rep, etc. Typical brands would be Hermès and Chanel on the high end of the spectrum, Sandro, Bleu de Paname and Paraboot as mid tier, Serge Blanco, Eden Park and Cyrillus at the bottom.
