13271978 No.13271978 [Reply] [Original]

/fa/, I've been considering making a purchase of a high end coat for the first time. Particularly something lighter for spring. I've been looking at costs from Canada Goose, Stone Island, and Moncler. Of those brands, who makes the best shit for the money.

Pic related: one of the costs I'm looking at.

Canada goose is a fashion crime.

why? i really like that jacket OP posted for example, i was actually looking at that same one for some time, vetements has a collab where they used that model as a base and it made me look up the original which i think is a quite nice black jacket. i don't know about their other stuff

interesting people have no desire it looking rich. anything that just requires money has no real value. they slowly curate their look over years of hard work. if there was a formula or answer, it would lose it's value.

I'm partial to Moncler myself. I've had a Moncler Auburn for 5+ years now, and it's really held up well.
Mine's really thick and puffy, but I'm fairly sure they make thinner jackets more suitable for spring wear.

I recently got a Canada Goose coat, and out of all the coats I own, it's by far the warmest. Hell, I have to wear a t-shirt under it during the winter otherwise Ill start to sweat. If you live where it gets very cold during the winter I'd recommend honestly.

>> No.13272660

>>13271978
Of those 3 brands, Stone Island probably has most /fa/ credibility. I think Moncler is pretty cool too but you really will look like a normalfag all winter, unless you're a rapper or smth, then its cool (lmao). Canada goose seems irrelevant imo.

If you get stone island you can also go for football hooligan look which is kinda nice, but you can also just be a normal fa dude if you dress correct.

It's a good time to buy a Canada Goose on ebay.

They're much cheaper second hand. Fewer animal rights violations as well. I got mine for about ~250.

You really do get more respect in Manhattan for wearing one, but everyone in Brooklyn will ask you for money. It's a trade off. I've been hired for high paying gigs just because I showed up being white in a Canada Goose.

I hate the system, but I guess I'll exploit it for my benefit.

No one is giving useful advice. I recommend passing the Canada Goose jacket because it's just kinda cliche at this point like wearing a supreme box logo hoodie. Not that either of those are necessarily ugly but it's just kind of a shallow flex

I would recommend either some Arc'teryx (either main brand, Leaf, or Veilance), Stone Island, or even Patagonia (if you are okay with looking like a prep). Personally I love Veilance and own multiple jackets by them and don't even think of it as overpriced. Check out grailed you can definitely find stuff for half off and only slightly used. Furthermore I would recommend checking out the techwear wiki and learning about some of the more obscure companies to see if you like any of their merchandise, then looking online for a good deal.
