I got myself a pair of Red Wing Beckmans a year or two back from Grailed. I live in the UK and foolishly forgot that US sizes are a size up from the UK, so they're about 0.5-1 size too small. I've just been leaving in the wooden Boot Tree from my Loake Bedales, that are the proper size, to keep them stretched a little, and I only wear them with thin socks. They're comfy af now.

I haven't worn them very often, but I might change that, cause I want to wear them so much, the leather is more supple than a gymnasts thighs.

Need some fit advice.

I currently have pic related in 3 sizes:

14D - clown shoes
13D - probably too narrow
13EE - maybe okay?

There's a bit of room in the toe box. My little toes slightly touches the side and my big toe toes touch the side of the boot.

Is this fine? Will this break in or are they still too small? I think the flex point is okay.

Cheers

I’m not familiar with that brand, so I. And tell you how they break in. Will you be wearing thick socks? Generally you want a half-once between your big toe and the wall. It’s ok if your toes touch the wall a bit, but if they’re pressing into it and it’s painful, that’s not good. Choose whichever feels best, and if none of them feel right then try more sizes.

These are the most recent pair of boots I've purchased. Margiela distressed suede side zips with crepe sole. Quality is okay I guess...haven't bought a pair of MMM boots in a while. Nothing like the older seasons. I think due to the material, the boots tend to be a bit loose in the profile and shaft. Would've returned, but I got them for $250 so I'll just use them as casual beaters.

Thinking of getting a pair of Guidi 995s in cordovan contrario next.

just got pair of these, bought brand new ones
in GATS, I have size 270 which corresponds to 42, which is my usual sneaker size
for these, I went 260 and while they fit me, the boots are not particularly comfortable and I think I need to walk them in so that they'll mold to my feet better, so I would size size down one BW size and get really good insoles for them, I should've probably gone with 265 so they'd be more comfy straight out of the box but I think I'll manage with these

oh and as far as they are otherwise, pretty much what you'd expect, the quality is subpar compared to really high quality leather shoes (my comparison points are really only ann d and rick) but good enough that they will last you a long fucking time
I really like the convenience of the zip and the design of it but the boots have amazing silhouette just laced without it, however the down side is they are kinda pain in the ass to put on and off without the zip
I had to mess around with the lacing a bit to figure it out so that the silhouette stays similarly slim as without the zip and the zip part doesn't bulge out too much when I bend my foot around and walk in them but got nice thing going on, get creative if you want something similar, that being said the slimness is probably less of an issue if you have bigger feet than I do, cause I think the zip is standard size for all the boots
really surprisingly, the sole is really grippy and holds well, so far only slipper on plain ice, but I've only used them for 2 days
if you want to wear them without the zip, you need to cop longer laces

> pretty much what you'd expect, the quality is subpar compared to really high quality leather shoes (my comparison points are really only ann d and rick) but good enough that they will last you a long fucking time
that was kinda badly worded, I wouldn't call the quality bad, standard mil-issue and like I said what you'd expect, absolutely best bang for your buck you can get but doesn't hold a candle to actually really well made boots as far as leather quality, sole, construction and comfort goes

They're fuckin great man! You can get seconds though. Some ave an hole punched in the tongue an others a marker dash on the sole. So there are seconds and blems out there to be sure.

Bare leather sole on a Hikers' bad cause you'll feel erry stone. 1K Miles can be had with a hiking sole or you can put one on. At $400 you can get them with an assortment of top shelf USA leather an Vibram hiking soles. Kinda cool to custom it.

If you want to wax your Hiker and make it smarter with a shine don't get Horween Chromepak Chromexel or annit like that. They don like wax. So those leathers aren't versatile in that sense. That could be a big decider against 1Ks an the like.

What is that? As in, Ultraboost?

How much space between your big toe and the end of the boot is there?

Cheers

I've been thinking that lately. It makes my upper body and jackets look weird when I wear them. Maybe it's time to move on then. I'm still wearing skinny jeans from like 2013.

Skinny looks like shit. If you wear skinny you look like a drugged out punk rocker.

Slim is probably what you're thinking of. Slim shows off your shape without making it too dramatic and accentuates whatever you're wearing.
Slim is good. Skinny is bad.

Honestly, *frustrating*.

If you don't have a fat foot, I don't see how these can possibly fit correctly.

Size 12 was too short
Size 13 is far too roomy

With 13, I can't actually get the boot tight enough to lock my foot in place. So it just slides forwards and touches the end, which is just not how you want a pair of £185 boots to fit.
