-fragrance will get your compliments when people are looking to compliment you or start a convo, but otherwise is not a magical pantry dropping aphrodisiac
-even if they fucking love your scent they will JUST love your scent, not you

In short, it's like any other accessory. If you have a really well coordinated outfit that's as a whole appropriate for your personality, persona, and your social event it's cool, but people aren't going to go "oh that's a nice belt, wanna fuck?"

So I think I've found out why some people have shitty longevity with WW, probably because of how you store the bottle.

I was losing longevity with it (was getting average of 2hrs) and I thought maybe because I store it lying down due to the shape of the bottle. Recently I tried storing it straight upward and it went back to 8hrs longevity.

Also using moisturizer before spraying helps.

All this might just be broscience but hey, it works for me.

I think it's real easy to get caught up in the whole specific occasion thing. I did that when I relied on fragranctica to tell me all about frags, but just because it's a night time or a formal fragrance doesn't necessarily mean you can't wear thongs whenever. I think the only thing you need is confidence. I really only adhere to the warm vs cold weather thing. That being said, there are fragrances that I still don't wear casually OFTEN for those occasion associations, but I think as long as you just keep those high projecting frags to two spritz then you won't really run into a problem.

someone on basenotes claims BdC Instense is coming soon

>I was at my local Saks Fifth Avenue store tonight smelling around. Near the Chanel counter was probably 10 or so reps and they were huddled together talking about something. A lovely lady came over and asked if I needed anything. I said no; that I was just browsing around. I then asked her if Chanel was planning to release anything new and she said "in fact, yes we are." She then went on and said they'll be releasing a new version of Bleu in a couple of months. Apparently the new scent will be called Intense. She said it smells a bit more citrusy but also very smooth with ylang-ylang in it. She said it's different from the EDT and EDP and that she really liked it a lot.

Anyone have any experiance with Franguence dot net? Is that legit?

>> No.13118408

Is it possible you get permanently anosmic to a cetain note? I feel like I can't smell rose anymore on any fragrance I try. I used to get repulsed by strong rose fragrances because it overpowered everything but now I dont smell any if I try those again.

Got a few Amouage samples. Tried Lyric right now, suprisingly one of the few citrus frags I actually like. I got a reaallly faint hint of rose for like 10 seconds then gone nothing. This reminds me a bit of Xerjoff Nio.

It's all about the dry down. The initial scent is a bit like axe or a BdC/Sauvage imitation but it wears down into something much nicer and smoother. Performs much better than you'd expect too for this type of frag. I don't get the hate for it really, I've yet to meet anyone that doesn't like the scent of it.

The question of deodorant is posted in here a lot, but what about soap?

Currently I use Dial antibacterial because it gets rid of/ prevents BO. It just smells like generic soap.

I would like something with antibacterial properties, but also fragrance free. Im thinking a charcoal soap, but most have some essential oil or something. What does /frag/ use?

Yes. It's ISO E Super and Molecule 1 is made of a molecule very similar (although allegedly not identical) to it.

Yes, it is, as all synthetic aroma molecules, very very cheap in comparison to a finished perfume product. It's identical to my nose. If you don't care about the packaging and name, then go grab yourself a flacon of ISO E Super.

Personally, I don't like it enough to warrant buying either. A lot of people are anosmiac to the said AM, and I think I must be too. It barely smells like anything on my skin, and if I get real close to it (1/2 inch away) all I smell is pencil shavings/cedar wood.

But still, I've heard some people go mad over it, so go ahead and grab yourself some inexpensive ISO E Super.

http://www.basenotes.net/threads/267992-Iso-E-Super-and-Molecule-01

There's some really helpful information about blending the AM into a carrier oil.

If you're really interested in how exactly different/similar Molecule 01 is from the AM, this is from Scent & Chemistry's Facebook:

"...apparently it is official now that 'Molecule01' is not 'Iso E Super' (6.85/6) but in fact 'Iso Gamma Super' (6.120, cf. S&C p. 207–214), though the ad says 'Iso E Super Gamma'. But if you inject in the GC you find only the 'Iso Gamma Super' isomers in 'Molecule01' and a bit of DPG, and that explains why those who simply diluted 'Iso E Super' to make their own 'Molecule01' did not get the same smell, and were consequently disappointed. 'Iso E Super Gamma' had been captive with IFF for quite a while, and thus it was strange that it appeared in the first launches of Ormonde Jayne that were allegedly exclusively composed by Linda Pilkington."

Basically it's just a different isomer/brand name but desu I think it smells literally the same. Sorry for the wall of text. Pic not related.

>> No.13126398

>>13126370
I have some of the Molecule copies sold on ebay (01, 02, 03). They serve the purpose of teaching you what pure Iso E Super, Ambroxan, and Vetiveryl Acetate smell like, while saving you a lot of money as compared to the Escentric Molecules bottles. I'm not sure that I'd use the Molecule 01 clone extensively due to my own paranoia regarding Iso E toxicity. The seller I bought from advertised that he used twice as much Iso E as in the official Molecule 01.

I just re read your post and completely missed out the fact that you were talking about a ready made imitation blend.

I'd say go for it, since as said, the AM is easily and cheaply availably hence I'd be pretty confident of the imitations being spot-on identical.

>> No.13126427

Interesting, I guess it's worth a try at least and if I really like it maybe even a sample of molecule 01 to see if there's any difference to me

>>13126398
Read a bit about that, I'm also paranoid so I might just apply lightly and not do the 30 spray thing.

I think it will also be interesting to see if it helps me identify things better, I love fragrances but am sometimes amazed at how easily some people pick out the notes and can even tell the difference between certain similar fragrances
