Oh the clip closing on the one I had is very uncommon. Most of them are just poppers. The repro ones are shit, don;t bother with those.

Thanks for the recommendation anon; I found a perfect pair of these and just ordered 'em. They'll go killer with my M65, which is easily the most comfy jacket I've ever had - I've worn it forever and it's beautifully faded, but it's still got decades of life in it, at least. Might even dye it jet black again someday, but then again maybe not, 'cos I double layer in Scotchgard once or even twice a year, and that really protects it well and keeps it strong as hell. It works fantastic worn over pic related (once I carefully removed the bullshit logo on its sleeve, that is). They're pricey, but a good heavy weight and work perfect for under a good many milspo jackets. Be sure and go up one size on the hoodie, and you're gold.

He only dealt in real issued stuff, and he found that black one for me 'cos we were friends \ good acquaintances, new old stock from the seventies or early eighties, through one of his fellow dealer pals on the East Coast. So that's my size in M-65s. Anyway, that jacket you're wearing in that nighttime photo has SUCH a beautiful and striking camo pattern- it looks bomb on you.

Well, why did you buy the most obnoxious jacket you could find? Alpenflage is so weird and in-your-face, and the cut, all the pockets, isn't helping.

I may have sounded a bit unfair to the M1909.
so I took mine out shopping today. Just above freezing, constant drizzle, light wind that died off. Performed admirably. The only two real gripes I have is you can;t layer it unless it dropped to the minuses so you're stuck with it (and only it) as the warmth layer and the collar design, while cosy, limits your choice in ear covering headwear.
