>>13058835
It runs in the family. I'm quite proud of the jaw. It puts me in a unique position, along with the femininity, of being more toward true androgyny. In my opinion most of what people consider to be androgynous is too feminine. It ought to be more like the descriptions of angels being both and neither. A little bit horrifying even. That's what I think at any rate.

There's probably a strong case to be made for one of those intersex gender disorders, if I cared or believed in such things. Same with the whole non-binary thing. Very generally it's just born of conflicting influences, so you have the masculine viewpoint and behaviour from growing up in an all male household, but also a need to replace the female mother figure and so on. I think the problem arises when people try to be just one or the other in these cases, which causes the great unhappiness characterising that group.

I've long laboured on the belief that both of anything is the best way to be. So you see I like camouflage and the bright gaudiness of Napoleonic uniforms, I can put forward an image of being an upright young chap (as it were) whilst also owning a number of pornographic tattoos.

Fun fact, I've been posting on 4chan since I was underageb&. That's almost 10 years.

Thanks for the recommendation anon; I found a perfect pair of these and just ordered 'em. They'll go killer with my M65, which is easily the most comfy jacket I've ever had - I've worn it forever and it's beautifully faded, but it's still got decades of life in it, at least. Might even dye it jet black again someday, but then again maybe not, 'cos I double layer in Scotchgard once or even twice a year, and that really protects it well and keeps it strong as hell. It works fantastic worn over pic related (once I carefully removed the bullshit logo on its sleeve, that is). They're pricey, but a good heavy weight and work perfect for under a good many milspo jackets. Be sure and go up one size on the hoodie, and you're gold.

I'd wear that jacket too, T. I gather it's something custom made by someone in Berlin? Does he happen to sell them? And are they gettable by Americans through the post? If they are, would you mind giving me some details; contact info and how to size 'em? My M-65 that I treasure so much is medium tall, and I was fitted by an old time quartermaster for it, who used to have this surplus shop in a little beach town called Montara. He only dealt in real issued stuff, and he found that black one for me 'cos we were friends \ good acquaintances, new old stock from the seventies or early eighties, through one of his fellow dealer pals on the East Coast. So that's my size in M-65s. Anyway, that jacket you're wearing in that nighttime photo has SUCH a beautiful and striking camo pattern- it looks bomb on you.

I hope this thread lasts a while, 'cos I'm especially digging this one.

I had 10 custom made if that's what you're asking. A Romanian factory in the end, but fabric printed down the road from me in the UK. They're all long gone I'm afraid, I still have one of course, but it was over a year ago now since I finished the run. I'm not a fan of the M65, not nearly interesting enough. The Norwegian jackets based on the M51 are my all time number one pieces though.

Other options that aren;t quite quilted but along those lines: British Army softie trousers; US army ECW stuff (I don;t remember which level); German army quilted liner (The same material as their parka liner); Austrian padded trousers and possibly those WW2 splinter trouser repros, I'm sure they're lined with blanket.

I may have sounded a bit unfair to the M1909.
so I took mine out shopping today. Just above freezing, constant drizzle, light wind that died off. Performed admirably. The only two real gripes I have is you can;t layer it unless it dropped to the minuses so you're stuck with it (and only it) as the warmth layer and the collar design, while cosy, limits your choice in ear covering headwear.
